Rooms quite small. Bathrooms modelled after a cruise ship setup but really small. That was really our only dislike that the shower was so small

    Staff very friendly and helpful

The room was quite small as was the toilet/shower room which had some questionable black mould around sealant in shower

Location is fantastic with a river view if you’re lucky to get a room at the back which we were. 15-20 min walk to Liverpool one depending how fast you walk lol. It’s a 10 min walk to the new Boxpark venue and peaky blinders bar which I have to say is also worth a visit

The fire alarm went off due to person smoking. The manager and all the staff were very professional throughout and felt with the situation and removed the person from the hotel. Thanked everyone at breakfast. Good team especially the security staff for his professional attitude and friendly attitude.

The fire alarm going off twice in the middle of the night.

The Dolby hotel is in a great location right on the Queens Docks. The room was clean and a reason size for a one stay, with a comfortable bed. It was very quiet considering the location on a main road. We didn't have any meals there so can't comment on the food.

The bathroom was miniscule and something I'd expect to find in student digs. There was no room to move for washing once the shower curtain was pulled round without getting constantly tangled. That aside, it was clean and well stocked. The beds are too high, and the mattresses offer little support on the edges for perching, without the feeling you're going to slip. While the beds were made, you need bottom sheets that fit the bed and don't migrate during the night. It makes for an uncomfortable night when the bottom sheet isn't were it's meant to be. The bathroom door needs to be a conctina door as the bed prevents it from opening fully. The restaurant is simply uninspiring. My son and I opted for the breakfast on our last day...Best meal of the stay. As for the lunch/evening menu, unless you're into spicy foods, toasted sandwiches and burgers, then there's little choice apart from soup. A decent salad, something with fresh veg wouldn't have gone amiss. Not curry, curry, chilli, burger, burger, burger. On the occasions I did eat in the restaurant, the standard of meal varied. The carrot and coriander soup was lovely. That was chosen as the other options were a couple of toasties or nachos. The second time I ate, I opted for the cheese burger while it arrived well present it soon became apparent that the burger bun had probably been microwaved. The bun around the edges was solid. I ate a quarter of it, the soft bit from the centre, then gave up... It simply wasn't pleasant. My son, on the other hand, enjoyed a lunch that consisted of a Tuna toasties and an evening meal of chilli concarne that he said was nice. The menu was just samey, uninspiring and a tad boring... It needs a makeover. With all that I've said, I would, however, still recommend this hotel. The staff were great, it's clean and central with great river views.

Great river views. The room was clean, the beds were freshly made. There was everything you'd expect, towels, toiletries, tea making facilities. Knockout view of the river. Location was fab, not too far from Albert Dock, a casino, food outlets.

My only small complaint was although it offered an evening meal facility the choice wasn’t great.

The position of this hotel is ideal for visiting Liverpool. Within walking distance to the centre and right next to the Mersey. Plus it has free parking for the duration of your stay
