Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was an issue on behalf of booking.com and nothing to do with the owner/hotel. The owner/staff went above and beyond to accommodate us with this issue, we couldn't fault them on this.
Owner and staff were helpful, friendly and very accommodating. For this fact alone I would thoroughly recommend staying here. They wanted nothing other than us to have a pleasant, comfortable stay and this showed through their communication with us.

Location was good, parking good ,room comfortable, good shower, all you need for a short visit. Would be using the same hotel, for future visits.

United KingdomThe quality of the bedding could be improved. The quilt and pillows were thin and the sheets felt poor quality. The lighting in the room wasn't right, I think different bulbs giving a warmer light would make the room feel more welcoming. Having said that it was a wet gloomy November weekend!
The room was spacious and warm. The bathroom was really nice, with an excellent shower. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Location with sea views and overlooking Bangor pier is great. Dog friendly, thank you!

The building is stunning and set in such a lovely location. Every thing you need for a nights stay was there we had ample coffee and tea and everything was clean. The staff were very cheerful and friendly .

United KingdomMy room was up a lot of stairs. I was ok, but I can see that many people would struggle. I was right up on the 3rd floor of the outer annex building (no lift), which itself was up a few flights of stairs before you got to the entrance of that building. Parking is not really adequate for this hotel. It offered a small number of free of charge on street parking bays at the front of reception, which were all full for the entire duration of my stay, but I did manage to find free on street parking not too far away, but this can not be guaranteed and could be an inconvenience.
View was great from the room. I didn't use any of the facilities other than my room so can not comment on those. My room overlooked Bangor pier, Anglesey and the sea. My room was fairly basic but met the usual expectations of cleanliness and facilities - for example, kettle, a tv, hairdryer, Plug sockets at the side of the bed (a bonus at hotels these days, so they should be mentioned) and good Wi-fi in my room. The two different receptionists I met during my stay were very friendly.

United KingdomWe couldn't figure out how to turn the lights on in the stairwell up to our room. The light at the top didn't seem to be working, so we had to walk up in the dark, which was a bit awkward.
Really great that I could take my dog with us (as well as my sister!).We were given a big room on the top floor in the main B&B building. Plenty of space for my dog's crate in the room. Comfy beds. Good sized bathroom with decent shower. Room was quite warm when we arrived but opening the windows sorted that out. Nice view over the Menai Strait. Quiet area after midnight. Good night's sleep. Looks like the B&B had a lovely area for breakfast, meals and drinks - overlooking the pier. Sadly we didn't use it.

United KingdomRailings on the steps would benefit from painting/replacing as they create an unfair first impression which does not reflect on the well run property; also there was a jacuzzi bath which sadly did not bubble but was still a very nice big warm bath!
Friendly staff, nice big room, excellent food, fabulous views and picturesque location, room well provided with towels, soaps, tea and milk etc.
