Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room was very warm, several things needed maintenance and the fire alarm went on continuously for over half an hour even though it was a false alarm.
Location was brilliant and the staff were fantastic. There was also a nice restaurant and car parking and adjoining brewery.

United KingdomThe room was almost unbearably hot and even with an open window it was just too warm to sleep properly. It was very warm when we were there, but the inability to get fresh air in the room, was a bit disappointing
Unfortunately our booking did not make it through to the hotel so for the first 20 mins or so, we weren’t sure if we had a room. The staff was really sweet and said they will check with the manager- he was very kind as well, offered us a drink on the house while we were waiting for them to resolve the issue. The did manage to fix it in the end and we were shown to our room. Everything was as expected- no complaints. The breakfast was delicious (buffet) and the location is a dream if you just want to relax, have some good drinks and delicious food.

United KingdomWe were on the ground floor what was very lovely, and the room was very beautiful and clean, but very noisy with other guests coming and going, and they seemed to always bang the door for some reason 🙈our tv decided to not work , so the duty manager came to try to sort it , he couldn’t but his childish attitude didn’t help, he found us a channel, said that would have to do as the hotel was full , and he couldn’t move us , then threw the remote on the chair and walked out , we never asked to move or asked him for anything, very rude man , but we didn’t let it spoil our time there ,
Very central to town centre

United KingdomA relatively minor gripe was the lack of suitable working space in the room.
Comfortable rooms, food very good and lovely riverside views from restaurant, pleasant bar with excellent craft beer brewed on site. Staff exceptionally attentive and friendly throughout.

United KingdomThe room was a bit warm & I had to kept the window open at night - but the weather was warm. If it had been usual Scottish weather the room would have been very cosy
It was right on the riverfront & was quiet & comfortable but within close walking distance of the city centre.

United KingdomCan’t really think of a negative, maybe that there was no bath in my room , but I chose to have a view of the river over that . Only thing that wasn’t right, the lamp at the dressing table was broken and the mirror was a bit dodgy, didn’t affect my experience but it may others .
I thought the room was lovely, comfortable bed , shower that’s powerful & hot ( I’ve experienced the opposite) The view from the room was beautiful. Plug points are in sensible places, eg beside a mirror or bedside ( again I’ve experienced otherwise) Also I liked that the room was not stifling , again most hotels be stayed in are way too warm! Food was exceptional, breakfast, one of the very best I’ve ever had, especially the haggis! I also used the Waterside restaurant, was not disappointed, food was beautiful & the cocktails were really delicious too.

United KingdomOur room was located in one of the outer buildings. Car park was located behind the building and it was easy to get into our room. Location was right along the river so it was great to just sit and watch. We also did the distillery tour next door and that was fun. We wanted an afternoon drink and the bar wasn't open so we had to walk to the hotel next door - highly reccomend that as well. Hotel restaurant was very tasty and easy.
