Gothic House is located in the town of East Grinstead and close to cafes and pubs. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable with a nice view of the church yard.

Pillows were all firm. Some softer would be good. Not easy to find and parking may be an issue at busier times No onsite food while building works being carried out. Plenty of options close by, but might be a problem for some people

Sadly, this time there was a problem with the plumbing making really loud groaning noises all night which meant we got little sleep. Not sure if it’s been fixed but the staff were really apologetic and helpful. If this problem isn’t there anymore we will definitely stay again. I’d just check before booking.

The bathroom blind doesn't draw all the way down and is overlooked by an outdoor seating area - we were advised it's due to be replaced and the seating area was unlikely to be occupied at this time of year so want an issue on this occasion.

Comfortable and warm on a chilly might! Staff very friendly and check in was swift. Perfect for an overnight stay and although Gothic House is centrally located on a busy road, this twin room is at the back of the property so is very quiet. Proper thick curtains also helped by minimising light entry.

There was a party downstairs on the Saturday night which was pretty loud. Fortunately the room we were in was at the back, so the noise was bareable. Could imagine it would have been v loud for rooms directly above the bar. Sadly no shower gel, shampoo or soap, luckily we had brought our own.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of East Grinstead. Really cool to look over the church and listen to the bells on the Sunday morning. Lovely cute room with comfy bed. Loved the styling. Didn't stay for breakfast as the staff looked very tired as there had been a party in the public bar downstairs.

Parking!! When you are carrying numerous wedding bags in the rain it was a bit of a challenge!!

Super room ,beautiful bath room and comfortable bed. The welcome was warm ,the attached cafe looked a little dishevelled. The staff were extremely helpful

I mentioned a cleaning issue that was immediately addressed in a most positive way. The only thing I would prefer is a pocket sprung mattress. Apart from that, Gothic House is a unique place, so nice to be somewhere different, with charm.

Beautiful room overlooking trees. Lovely characterful furniture, beautiful old house. Lovely staff, really superb, helpful. Heating on all the time if needed. Good shower.

Bit of a walk with bags from car park. Would like room to be larger and somewhere to put your clothes you’re wearing. Breakfast?

Breakfast only started at 10am so I ate breakfast away from the hotel. If you needed something in the early mornings, it was difficult to find anyone. Shower was good but the entrance to it is quite narrow, despite having sliding doors.

The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and keen to help.

Loved the location and the history of the place, the window overlooking the ancient graveyard. Great bar downstairs with great owner and staff.

Location is a bit far from the train station, so if you have to carry a lot of stuff then may be it is a better idea to call a cab instead.

The room we spent the night was not small. It was almost the same size as the bathroom, which was quite large. Love the cozy bed and the big vintage bathtub and the overall decor they had going on. The broken hangers and the makeshift wire hanging in the wardrobe were a little bit disappointing, so hope they will get that fixed soon.
