Our room was quite tired and dated - bathroom not great 😬 (although a super powerful shower!), TV didn't work, quite hot in the rooms and noisy as we were by some sort of heater/fan going outside all night.

The location is great, and the beds were pretty comfortable. Fine as somewhere for us to sleep after a group trip to Reading.

Although they did warn us. The noise from the bar downstairs was a bit annoying, but as hikers, we knew to put in our ear plugs and ended up having a decent sleep.

Location near the St James Way. The room was big, clean, and good for what we needed. Triple room.

Really nothing to complain about . was value for money and Staff were very open and friendly . . The new starter even volunteered coffee from his private flask as he was not authorized / trained yet to use the coffee maschine in the bar.

Room was small but ok for alone travel . Location to center good and could walk every where I needed to go . Interesting Ale House pub on London Road . Hotel was not serving breakfast. Not a problem as lots of cafes nearby .

Noise levels of the bar downstairs, was only made aware after room had been booked. I didn't think it would be an issue but it was really loud and prevented a good night's sleep. I heard alot of noise until 5am I don't know if this was the bar or room next door but didn't get a good night's sleep regardless

It is a unique building in a good location, very convenient as its close to Reading Town centre

The music from the bar below was extremely loud. Luckily it went off at midnight but I understand Saturdays are later [we stayed on a Friday) Would have rated the hotel higher but for the in-house dj downstairs in the bar

Refurb was lovely. Amazing building. Spacious rooms with all amenities needed for an overnight stay

Not all of the rooms have been refurbished so pictures are a bit misleading. Walls are very thin, could hear the conversation next door. Furniture is a bit old, like staying at your nans for the weekend.

The room was clean and spacious, had coffee and tea making facilities, bathroom was clean. Close enough to the town/train station. TV worked.

My room was single, which is what I had booked, but the window looked out straight into the window of an adjoining building only about 6 feet away. My room had a tiny desk, but no chair. Room lighting was poor. No breakfast available.

Well located; attractive and elegant property with a good vibe. Staff very helpful; food in the bar/restaurant excellent and well-priced. (Munchees, 5 minutes walk away in town does an excellent breakfast, and the best coffee I have yet had on this visit to the UK)

I have stayed here on and off for nearly a decade. I 've got over my don't likes...

We got a room which was sufficiently quiet to miss the music from downstairs. Room staff were pleasant and helpful. Location is great for attending events in Reading town centre and close to buses, trains and car parking.

I had an extractor van going in an ajoining room all night which woke me up at 3 a.m. The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable in room 6, although I have stayed here before. when I had a lovely comfortable bed in Room 4.

Room required update, extra sockets needed, no breakfast facility, Needs door sign for: clean room or do not disturb as cleaners just walked in, and better locks on door for customer security. Very thin walls could hear 'everything ' ahem...;) next door, The restaurant is open on a Friday and saturday expected some pub noise but was like being above a nightclub till 1.30am, we weren't advised of this on check in, No lift , not family friendly

Good location Helpful and polite staff Heater and fan provided
