Its quite outdated could do with a revamp but again thats just my preference.

Great location, large property. I personally think it is quite expensive for what you get but its a lovely hotel.

So only a couple of standout things on my dislike list. First was the location of the TV in the room, I understand you don't come to a place like this to watch TV, but was nice to back and chill in the room and watch a bit of telly, but the TV was on the wall adjacent to the bed so meant you had a rather uncomfortable viewing angle whilst watching. Secondly when we came back from the spa, the cleaners had kindly been in our room and had a tidy up, however the smell in the bathroom was unbearable (like a sewery sort of smell), had to douse it with aftershave to try and mask the smell. Lastly was the bed just didn't really feel comfy, my wife and I woke up both mornings with bad backs after having a restless night's sleep. I should have said something but I didnt really know what they could have done other than maybe given us a different bed?

Staff were so friendly and cannot fault their attitude, spa was spotless and very relaxing. Breakfast also lovely, not an amazing selection but I'm sure they would have rustled us up something off the menu if we asked. Location is brilliant if you like walking, we had a hearty breakfast and decided to go for a 6 mile walk (basically a big old loop around Stock), which was just what was needed, then a nice little dip in the pool and jacuzzi to relax, perfect!

Spa was very busy - pool had lots of people in it, no loungers to sit on as full. Clearly popular which is a good thing, however prefer quieter spa experience for relaxation. I'll go down at 7am next time I stay!

Breakfast bang average. Made order of egg and bacon, can back piping hot, could tell it had been batch made and left under very hot heater. Poor standard given the rest of the hotel, £20 is a joke to be honest for this.

The fact that there was no toothpaste in the room and that it was two singles made into a double bed. But apart from that it was lovely.

I loved the the staff and the layout of the hotel was traditionally done which gave me 17th century tudor vibes.the restaurant and the food was incredible considering that it was included in the hotel price. So in all the stay was very very accommodating.

The bar food menu is dire and things do not improve when the food arrives (although the staff were very helpful and pleasant). The Beer battered fish was all and I mean ALL batter, it was hard to find the fish, this was accompanied by a small ramakin of bullet style peas. This was surprising for somewhere that likes to be known as a gastro location. It could of course be that they are just trying to move people into the main restaurant in the evening. The shower in our bedroom was not temperature controlled and spurted cold then scalding hot in the middle of an otherwise very nice shower, hopefully management will fix this for the next guests. The morning breakfast was uninspiring.

The hotel sits nicely in its own grounds giving a very nice ambience, the public areas are tastefully decorated and clean and the theme follows through into the bedrooms. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and road noise is limited. Staff are very helpful.

My room was too hot throughout my stay! I didn't feel they took advantage of the beautiful outside space - the spa only had access to a tiny concrete courtyard and the cafe didn't seem to have outside seating. My main disappointment was that I like to enjoy a hot drink while reading my book in a spa. At Greenwoods the cafe is across the hotel from the spa and there didn't seem to be a way to make having a hot drink in the spa feasible.

Greenwoods is a lovely building in a lovely location. The spa is very calm and the gym facilities looked pretty good (I didn't use them as I was too busy chilling)! My room was nice, a good size and clean. I used the restaurant in the evening which was really nice! The staff were very welcoming.

The only thing I can say is I let them know in advance we were attending for our anniversary and we didn’t get a note or anything to acknowledge this. Had that of been acknowledged I would’ve rated 10/10.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The gym is fantastic. The spa was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable with a great array of amenities. The building and grounds were beautiful.

I didn’t like the lay out of our room and the bathroom was small To get to the room if felt like we were accessing part of the hotel that was a bit of an after thought I didn’t feel the room was a £300 a night room but the hotel is lovely as are the staff
