Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThe facilities are a bit dated, but it did not bother my stay.
Superb location, just by Cambridge city center. Exceptional staff, nice and frugal room for a nice rest. Hotel is clean and easy to access. Recommended for business travelling.

United KingdomCambridge, like so many other university towns (see how much a room is in St Andrew's, for example), is expensive to stay in. So in relative terms, it was good value. The room was a (very) small single, bordering on the claustrophobic. For example, the bathroom door couldn't open completely because of the location of the bed.
Although the room was small, it had everything the weary traveller needed. The shower was excellent. In terms of location, anyone who knows Cambridge will know just how far the railway station is from the town centre. The hotel is conveniently located about halfway between the two.

United KingdomThe only negative is the towels aren’t big enough. I get this in most places I stay but as a larger lady I need a bigger towel
The location was excellent, the rooms were really nice. It was lovely and clean . Great price for a 3 star hotel

United KingdomYou can hear noise from other adjacent bathrooms but it's not a problem if you use ear plugs.
Location was great, the bed was comfy and the room very clean and plenty of space as a solo traveler.

GermanyThe hotel is in an historic house, which meant that everything is small and creaky. In the morning, you hear the floorboards creaking as other travellers descend for breakfast. My room was also designed for someone smaller than 6ft - there was barely enough space between bath and toilet (perhaps just a shower would be sufficient), and I am surprised I did not bump my head using the staircase down to reception.
The Hotel is in a great location between the station, city centre and colleges. The staff were super friendly and the whole hotel was very clean. The optional breakfast was unspectacular, but worth the price (I paid £7 in 2024). The room was clean and generally comfortable. Perfect for short/business stays.

United KingdomBreakfast - disappointing - a poor English idea of a continental spread - just 2 sorts of ham one of sliced cheese, plus a few gherkins and olives - cold hard boiled eggs - yesterday's bread reheated. Individual cups of tea by self-service and tea-bags.
Booking worked well, I was expected and very quickly registered. Bed fine, though too many cushions.

United KingdomThe mattress on the bed was very soft and the bed was on wheels and was moving around too easily on the floor boards. However, I understand that there are people who prefer the softer and bouncy mattresses. The breakfast was simple but was perfectly OK for the price.
Excellent location, clean room and bathroom, very nice staff.

United KingdomThe only window in my bedroom was firmly locked with a sign indicating it could never be opened. The room was stuffy and the air conditioning made for a noisy night! Genuine fresh air should be accessible to all.
My request for a quiet room, for a small additional charge, was successful. My room was situated at the rear of the hotel on the first floor nicely away from the street. The breakfast was plentiful and staff very helpful.

United KingdomOnly a small amount of parking out front, so we had to park a fair walk away. Also only air conditioning in some rooms and not others.
Nice and clean, easy to find and good value for money.

United KingdomThe location of the hotel suited me perfectly as it was about halfway between the station and King's College where I needed to be. The room had all I needed with its own shower room and was a good temperature with a comfortable bed.

United StatesThe location is marvelous. It is a 3 minute walk to the Fitzwilliam Museum and the colleges and sites are very convenient and all within an easy walk. I was happy with my stay and the price was good. It was very clean and the room (a single) was small but comfortable. Nice bed.

United KingdomIf you're over 5 feet tall beware , the stairs have a low ceiling and the small, single room has the toilet crammed in between at the end of the bath and the wall(could just about sit down).
Close to venue for a gig, and also restaurants etc nearby.

United KingdomI lost a button and needed a little sewing kit. The kind man on night duty could not help me with that but the owner gave me a sewing kit in the morning so all was fine. Maybe they could have these things more available for all staff to find:-)
The Lensfield is a really nice hotel and located very close to the centre (about 5 minutes walking). Our room was facing the street but it was not too loud. The bed was comfortable, the bath very modern and the room, though small but big enough, had all we needed (even an extra radiator/heater in the wardrobe which we did not need). It also had a very good kettle which I find important. The staircase was quite narrow and I'm not sure that the hotel is accessible for wheelchair users at all, as there a steps leading to the front door. The hotel offered continental breakfast but we did not have breakfast in the hotel.
