The lady in the restaurant was not very welcoming.

The lady on reception was lovely. The bedroom as well presented...the mints on the bed were nice touch! Being able to park outside was amazing and the tucked away location was lovely.

We travelled from London in the morning hoping to hv lunch after Checking in , but as we had passed lunch time, we requested in room service as per the menu provided in the room, but to our amazement was told that the kitchen was closed and no food could be ordered. Until after 6pm. I feel there should be some kind of meal available especially in a hotel of this standard. So this was very disappointing and unsatisfactory in my opinion.

Didn't have a hairdryer in our room which it should have . Couldn't wash my hair in the morning. Reported it to reception.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here . Fantastic staff , welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely and breakfast was yummy . Already booked for our 3rd visit . Thank you

Lighting in room was poor I was given a room for a disabled guest so the sink was awkward for me to use - too low for someone not in a wheelchair No shelf in shower for soap, shampoo etc. had to put things on floor of shower which was difficult

We specifically requested a twin-bed room, as that was an option specifically offered for that room. Only after the booking was confirmed were we advised that the request 'could not be guaranteed', but that the hotel would 'do their best'. Not good enough! Either the twin-bed option is available or it isn't. On arrival, the room assigned to us turned out to be a KS bed. I reminded reception that we had requested the twin-bed configuration. We were then immediately given the next room along the hallway, which was already in twin-bed configuration. So why wasn't that the room we were assigned in the first place? Do you have to demand to eventually get what you booked at this hotel? This was highly inconvenient was it wasted valuable time that we were supposed to me spending at dinner with friends elsewhere.

The room was of generous size, and extremely quiet, being at the far end of a wing of the hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast (additional cost) was very good. There was ample free parking on the property grounds.

There was a function on in the hotel on our second night's stay so there was music playing until 12.30am. When that stopped there was the moving of furniture. However, this is to be expected from a hotel such as this and would not prevent us staying again. Breakfast was extra at around £12 each. As we don't eat large breakfasts, it was more economical to walk into town and have something on toast at a local cafe for half the price! There are several cafes that open at breakfast time.

The main part of the hotel is old but the decor suited its age without being drab. It is set in amongst trees with good parking. The outside looked very pretty lit up in the evening . The hotel also has the advantage of being in easy walking distance to the town. Our room (10) was at the end of a corridor and had a cupboard next door, so was very quiet ( on the first evening!) The room was a good size with a large comfy bed and comfy pillows ( which is rare in a hotel) The bathroom was a good size with a simple shower that was easy to work, which is always a bonus! All the staff were friendly and helpful and we were always greeted with a cheery hello and a smile.

Breakfast was poor. Buffet empty of various items awaiting refill. Very young inexperienced staff left to run breakfast - inattentive and out of their depth. Breakfast poor value for money and did not live up to brochure picture - glad we didn’t eat in restaurant for evening meal.

I arrived after midnight (from a wedding), the front door was locked and there was no bell (not obvious that I could see), therefore I had to ring reception and tell them I was outside - again I couldn't see a sign suggesting to do that. Reception were polite enough.

Small room as expected for one person and a cheapish price. Easy parking, fairly close to the centre of town, but far enough away for peace and quiet.

Room was very small and dark, bathroom taps for the shower were scolding hot or freezing cold. The front window looked onto a wall and the rear window looked onto a roof with vents.

Friendly staff, good food and great location. Nice gardens and bar area. An attractive property but it needs work in the rooms.

Great location, quiet and peaceful yet close to a town centre, well equipped clean, comfortable rooms and the most helpful hospitable staff. Good food, nice bar and comfortable clean room.
