How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Being rudely awaken by a fire alarm in the middle of the night. Thankfully it was turned off but left us all jangling. Need power sockets near the bed.

Looks a bit tired, flaking paint, dirt in places
Room was fine for us. We had a bar meal which was OK. No breakfast. Plenty of parking. Easy to find.

Older part of the hotel needs upgrading. Room 119 had an old bathroom, old tiles and the corridor doors banged so loudly when people passed by I got woken up. Had previously stayed in the newer wing to the right of the building. Ask which part you'll be in as there's a difference in modernity!

There wasn't a lift. The bassin and curtain were dirty, and the size of the bed was small because we were a couple. The cleaner she just changed the shits on the bed and the towel in the bathroom, but she didn't clean during our 4 days' stay.

Great location for easily accessing various places in the area and in a calm environment, we benefited from a perfect match. The rooms were comfortable, checking in and out easy with friendly staff. Most appreciated the coffee/tea machine in the room!

Nothing negative to report.
Very good value for money. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice. Staff at reception, bar and breakfast all very friendly.

Long walk from the annexe to the front door, alternative exits would be useful.
Comfortable stay, useful location for a 20 min walk to Saltaire, well lit. Nice breakfast.

Quite a long walk to exit via reception, would be better to have an exit near the annexe.

Everything was good and the staff were excellent! However the bath was fine for a shower but I couldn’t have the luxurious soak in the bath because it looked disgusting. It was very, very discoloured and the surround of the plug was damaged a lot and very rusty. Be warned future guests- don’t accept room 131 unless the bath has been replaced. Apart from that everything was clean and comfortable and in good working order, and I will be back!
I have been several times and I feel safe and comfortable there. The reception staff on duty when I was there were exceptionally helpful and friendly. My room was warm with the option of good ventilation, the bed was comfortable and cosy and the kettle etc were clean and in good working order. The breakfast food was lovely, fresh and with great variety and all the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful.

Room was very clean, but the tv remote had been removed and there were no tea or milk sachets, so we made a number of trips to reception to get replacements. Also one of the bedside lights didn't work.

Not sure how it rates a five star billing. More like a three. In great need of sprucing up. Carpets are filthy in places and the pillows are so hard it impairs sleep.
The location is superb. Easy to find. Parking is easy and plentiful. The grounds are lovely. Breakfast was on time, hot and staff delightful.

The milk for the cereal was warm in the morning. Quite old styles in the place.
Handy location to our friend's house - not sure about the location otherwise. Looks pretty on the outside and beds were comfortable.

Slightly jaded. Had to have my key-card re-coded 3 times on my 4 night stay.
Great classic hotel. Great location for my needs on this trip. Nice big room, comfy bed with fab bedding. Awesome value-for-money.
