How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

They was so helpful to me. I went there on a spur decision, didn't know where to go and Peter gave me loads of excellent ideas. Can't fault them nothing is too much trouble

I think if I had to say anything I didn't like it would be that the vegetarian breakfast could have been better, maybe vegetarian sausages included.
It is well enough located for me, and in a nice quiet part of town. The owners were lovely, warm and helpful, my room was very comfortable and quiet.

Fiona and her husband looked after us so well. The rooms were all big, comfy and clean. They let us put our motorcycles safely at the side of the property and even got one in their garage (2 maybe 3 sports might fit in there). Breakfast was all locally sourced and cooked by Fiona’s husband who is a chef. Our favourite stop over on our Scotland trip and actually the cheapest too.

Made so welcome by Fiona and Peter, they were very accommodating regarding my vegan diet, delicious breakfasts and nice secure, locked garage for my motorcycle. My room was extremely comfortable and spacious. So there was nothing NOT to like.

There was honestly nothing i didn't like, the hosts work so hard to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.
We arrived on motorcycles and our hosts allowed us to keep them overnight in their garage. Fiona simply could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and to ensure we had everything we needed. An easy walk from the guesthouse into town and to all the local amenities. Lovely, comfortable and well proportioned rooms and an excellent breakfast provided (which included genuine Stornaway Black Pudding, my favourite). A really enjoyable stay and will definitely use again.

Good walk from the railway station but once you get your bearings it is fine.
The owners are lovely people. They can't do enough for you. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic.would not hesitate in booking with them again.

Everything, from arrival to departure exceeded my expectations. I would recommend staying here if visiting Perth for a short or long stay. The hosts are fantastic and couldn’t do more to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable.

The bed was uncomfortable and quite small. Towels were too small and rough.
The hostess was lovely and very helpful. The breakfast had a good selection and was very good .

The house was extremely cold throughout the stay. The supplied hot water bottle and blankets were definitely required. Brighter centre light bulb and reading bedside lights would be beneficial as what is provided is limited. Bed in Room 2 has a dent in mattress with a topper making no difference. An electric extension cable should be provided to avoid guests having to use one skirting board electric socket for kettle, phone, tablet etc. All guests had same opinion about the lack of heat. The aforementioned is constructive criticism in the hope that standards improve.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

We arrived very late and by the time we found out that we could not connect to the WiFi it was too late to ask anyone. Not really a problem just a slight nusciance.
Lovely large room, comfortable bed and fresh milk for the hospitality tray. Excellent well cooked breakfast with good variety and mainly local produce.
