How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The cleanliness of the carpets, headboard, skirting board etc, the places where can easily get missed, but I noticed it as the plug was just above the skirting board so I noticed the dust and dirt.
Perfect location, super friendly and helpful staff. The room wasn't as clean as I would have expected, but overall comfortable.

Whilst we recognise this is beyond the control of the hotel, the fact that the hotel didn't have its own car park was a bit negative.
We were given a really nice room upgrade. The breakfast was included in the room price and was value for money. We will stay again next time we are in Leeds City Centre. It was also opposite the Queens Hotel where we were exhibiting at a Doctor conference so this was ideal

Restaurant closed, not enough tea and bikkies in room (although did give more when asked).
Breakfast options were good; cocktail bar ok. Free drinks voucher when didn't have room service which for 2 nights was fine.

The beds and pillows was not very comfortable, also our room was way too hot, the air con temp control did not work..
The location was perfect for what we intended. Shopping and Drinking :). The Breakfast was very nice, plenty of choice.

Bed was low, but comfortable not a devan, bathroom shower was in need of maintenance, and sink had a leak.. towels had marks on them 1st day we were there to use them, but we did have them replaced

The horrendous parking fee,you use to get 50% off not now the car park were charging £33 for 24 hours we stayed two nights and were charged £40 and an additional £ 3.80 when we got to the carpark disgusting the hotel or booking.com never said anything about that additional cost, the carpark opposite the Q park is only £12 for 24 hours so don't get hoodwinked into paying extortionate parking fees like myself, ruined a great stay

I left my charger in the room and the communication has been poor. Two emails from someone asking if it had been sorted, IV replied no and still no word. I know it's only a charger but I did call on my way home and someone was suppose to call me back. Never happend. Apart from that it was excellent. Id. Definitely recommend it.
Everything. It was a big spacious room, got some lovely chocolates for my bday in the room when we arrived which was a lovely touch. Beds were amazing and comfy. Great value for money.

The bathroom door stuck when closed which made a horrendous noise when opened. The room itself was on a slight slope which made the bed slope a little toward the head end.
The room location with city view was really good. The breakfast was really nice, hot food, fresh and plenty of tea or coffee. A lot of choice also.

Breakfast restaurant was very noisy, partly due to concrete floor and partly due to a large, very loud family group who had no consideration for other guests (which is of course totally outside the hotels control) Frosted glass bathroom door meant the bedroom was lit up if one of us used the loo during the night
Location was excellent, right in the centre of Leeds close to shopping, bars & restaurants. Two minutes walk from the station if arriving by train. Lovely quiet room on 9th floor overlooking City Square had everything we needed for short stay. All the staff we met (reception and breakfast restaurant) were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
