Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomthe breakfast - aware recently been taken over - breakfast worked out at £15 per head - continental was a couple pastries and a couple of yoghurts available, that’s it. cooked breakfast and hot drinks had to be ordered from a menu with prices on - £9 was the most expensive breakfast… could only get standard coffee or tea, and no top ups offered. we stayed three nights, so three breakfasts, and not once did they get the order right, and the staff were almost too scared to talk to us, looked at us like we were lost when we walked in: not very welcoming at all. only went back because it was already paid for, but poor value for money overall.
property is clean and comfortable, staff downstairs friendly enough

United KingdomThe room was a little tired in decoration but it was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
The young staff that were on duty when we stayed were exceptional, very friendly, capable and professional. They made us feel welcomed from the moment we checked in, we were very impressed. Very good choice for breakfast, large portion. Food served in the pub in the evening was typical pub food but well cooked, well presented and quick service.

United StatesThe entrance and hallways are old and tired, carpet is dirty. Covid was the excuse for no maid service but other than 1 jar of hand sanitizer on a landing there were no special precautions made by staff. Heat was sporadic, never knew when it would come on. no heat in the bathroom at all. Breakfast was fine not outstanding.
I gave a lot of thought before writing this view. What I have to say is this place is fine if you don’t have high expectations. It is all about the location and breakfast is included in the price which I think was a little high. The room was very basic but clean and small. The Sunday roast was excellent! Staff were very nice.

AustraliaRoom quality poor, dirty looking carpets, rooms need upgrading. No parking.
Location great, centre of town, staff great, breakfast was great. Rooms and bathrooms reasonable clean. The rooms need upgrading or a good coat of paint. Carpet in the rooms don't look clean probably old. The hallways and stairs to the rooms let this place down. Makes the hotel look like a 2 star hotel. I felt the hotel was a bit over priced for the room quality. Can be noisy being centre of town. We did not mind as it was expected due to location. Be aware there is no parking at this hotel and finding it in the one way system can be tricky.

United KingdomNothing!!!
The location of the Queens was amazing, very central, close to the shops and a stones throw from the beach. The room was small and compact, but for what we paid was what I expected. It had a very typical B&B feel to it which was very quaint. We stayed in room number 6 and if you looked out the window could see the sea! In the room you had lot of tea & coffee supplies which was nice rather than the usual 3/4 milks and a couple of sachets of coffee or tea bags. Breakfast was fab, you booked a time slot in, went down there was fresh tea & coffee available, and nice to see they actually had decaf tea and I can't have caffeine. You then helped yourself to a nice selection of croissants, cereals and fruit with a few different types of little jars of jams, honey and marmalade. One of the staff came over and then took your order for the cooked breakfast which was lovely and again to a high standard. When we had finished breakfast a lady came over to ask if there was anything we needed for our rooms, extra towels, more tea & coffee supplies etc. The young man that was working in the hotel I think his name is Mark (he had a pot on his arm) was exceptionally helpful and friendly and lovely to chat to in a morning. All the team here are very friendly and you can see how hard they work to make your stay enjoyable.

BelgiumSmall but clean room. Though very hot, no airco. Sleeping with open window also no option, given the street noice (late in the evening, early in the morning) and sea guls.
Central location. Helpful personnel. Breakfast only served at 8.30am. This is late for hikers (hiking along the South West Coast trail), however they offered us a take-away breakfast we could collect the evening before.

United KingdomIt was very noisy first thing in the morning with refuse trucks and bottle collections. Not the pub’s fault that it was so hot we had no choice to have the window open all night though (and there was a fan in the room which was great). Decor of our room was tired (although a quick peek in other rooms when leaving wasn’t the case for the others we saw).
Very comfortable bed, great location for our needs. Delicious cooked breakfast. Nice friendly staff.
