Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had 2 double rooms booked. The rooms were very small. It was hard to move around the room it was that tight. We had to move around the bed in one room sideways. In the 2nd room, the bed was wall to wall. You had to stand on the bed and climb over to get to the other side. The showers were also broken in both rooms. The mixer bar didn't work, so it was cold showers only. The shower in one room was small, and we struggled to fit through the gap to get into the shower. There was no way to control room temperature. The windows were old and wooden and let the cold in.
The location was great. 2 mins walk to Paddington Station.

United KingdomThe hotel bathroom had a vile smell, although informing the staff who came to "clean" the smell, it was just horrible. Would have expected a room change, but that didn't happen.
The hotel is local to all the tourist places and food is easily accessible.

United KingdomA few issues with maintenance, no heating in one room and shower cold is another.
Good proximity to Paddington. Comfortable beds. Warm room. Had issues with varying things, one room cold, one no hot water in shower, etc, but Vinny bent over backwards to help. However, i don't like complaining, so it put a dampner on the weekend.

Hong KongThe room I have face is not street view but view of the drain area… the window do open but cannot stay open and cannot lock. The only ventilation is from the AC they have in the room. There are few steps of stairs at the front door of hotel and if you are staying at the ground floor there are few more.
The place is clean, and they only provide basic amenities. Even though towels shampoo soap shower caps are provided, best to bring your own. No toothbrush toothpaste and no fridge. But they do have a water kettle. Don’t expect to much. Location is great though.

EgyptFirst of all, when I arrived the room was ready but they kept me waiting for a long time to give me the keys when my trip was only one night and I didn’t want to waste my time waiting for my room. They asked for a 50 pounds deposit for “damage”, when I was staying only one night, in addition there was no fridge in the room when I had food with me while traveling that needed to stay in a fridge. This is a 3 star hotel without a fridge? In addition to the back of the bed was swinging and was “damaged” with old furniture in the room which was bizzare given that they take a 50 pound deposit from everyone for “damage” that could happen to their “old already damaged furniture”. The wifi wasn’t working properly and had to use my own internet package while roaming.
The location was great, close to hyde park and paddington station, thank you to Wahiba for her helpfulness and consideration. The room was clean, the bathroom was good and clean

AustraliaThe room configuation was ridiculous. A double and single bed upstairs in a mezzanine that was stuffed up inthe roof of the room, we could hardly stand up and there no air so was totally hot and stuffy up there. Steep steps down to the ground floor where the bathroom was. 2 single beds on the ground floor which meant the kids were downstairs near the doors, so a security issue for me, and we were up in the attic like children. Space was so small, someone had to sit on the bed so another person could get past. No fridge, no chairs and no table. So it was very uncomfortable for a family of 5 for 3 nights. It was also hot for London, and there was no opening windows, just a french door that had to be locked all the time because it opened onto a public balcony. I expected a budget hotel but the room we were given was not appropriate for a family.
Location and cleanliness were excellent.
