Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI mainly didn't like the aesthetics of the room: it was a bit lifeless for my liking- a bit 'beige' and unsympathetically designed and furnished. The bathroom was very 'sterile' - everything white and no decorative elements to the space at all. Just felt cold. The bar was also a bit 'lifeless' and wasn't that inviting. But if you are looking for a good room, with good facilities and a good bed, these details shouldn't put you off.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were spacious. The bed was comfortable and fresh and the shower was nice and powerful. The communal stairwell, with its dramatic, chandeliered atrium was a visual delight- very photogenic. Being in front of the central railway station and minutes from most of the 'action' is a big plus. Great location. A very good hotel to suit your practical needs.

United KingdomThe first room we were given was a king room which we didn’t like . It was very big and cold ,gloomy and the toilet was really big a lot of wasted space and no heating . Thankfully we were given lovely a much smaller room which was warmer and more fashionable

United KingdomThe heat in the bedroom was nearly unbearable, the radiator wasn't on and it wasn't even warm outside so I can imagine it being very uncomfortable in the summer!
Front of house staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pool was nice to visit albeit a bit chilly.

United KingdomThe water pipes in the room I was allocated made quite a bit of noise during the night and therefore I didn’t get as good a nights sleep as I had hoped. I originally booked direct with the hotel and then found a cheaper rate on booking.com so naturally I cancelled the direct booking and used booking.com.. I was disappointed I couldn’t book direct and get the best deal.
I had dinner in the hotel which was very good but pricey.

United KingdomThere wasn't a comfortable lounge area, the bar was not really conducive to relax in and the walk across to the activity centre was somewhat exposed. Equally the very wet floor/stairs meant I only used the facility once during the stay.
We knew the room would be small, but a second chair or stool would have been useful. The service was fine and reception very helpful on arrival. Breakfast was great.

United KingdomThe room was super hot even after turning the heating off and we had to leave the window open all night and also I paid more for a king room and it was two beds pushed together which was disappointing I would have rathered paid less so I could push the beds together myself…
It was very central, we enjoy where it was

United KingdomA great central location. Clean room and a decent size. The only minor grumble we had was that the room was ridiculously hot, but the noise was unbearable when we opened the window.

United KingdomTerrible for anyone with access / mobility issues. Although there is a lift, there is only one located centrally between each side of each floor in what is a very large hotel. The corridors then have stairs up, then down, then back up again to the individual rooms. I had to hold a child while dragging a pram and I saw a few older people huffing and puffing. Ultimately, what I judge a stay on is first and foremost how well I sleep and although the beds were decent the noise of rooms above and alongside was really unacceptable. Super creaky old floors and every time a chain flushed in any other room it woke you from your sleep.
Location wonderful. City centre and on top of the train / metro station. Taxi rank right outside. Breakfast really excellent. Restaurant as a whole really good. Staff all very pleasant.

United KingdomThe room location was at the front and because it was a Friday night I was very noisy until well after midnight but not helped by the poor double glazing. The heating was not working well but a convector heater was brought up within minutes of asking.
The location very central and the rear entrance was straight onto the station concourse.

United KingdomStayed here before with no concerns, booked a small double room, when i got to the room and viewed it much to my dismay it was very small and wasn't suitable. I went to reception and and asked for a bigger room so upgraded for a extra fee. Standard room good size, but very dated, carpet was very grubby and stained, the decor was bright enough but fingerprints on the dark blue wall behind the bed. The TV was on a turntable stand on a desk it wasn't movable, so to watch tv you had to lie or sit on the bed and look to the left, really not suitable at all. Bathroom clean enough, dated again, chipped bath. Sockets in the room on the floor, none available at the bedside or on the desk, had to charge phone on the floor. Windows are obviously old as the building single glazed but they don't open easily,my husband had to lift the window upwards and i had to jam a can in the space to keep it open for fresh air.
Central location, handy for shopping, restaurants, bars and train station. Good parking at the train station.

United KingdomI asked for a quiet room and I got a room at the front facing a taxi rank. I was provided with ear plugs yet I could still hear shouting of people leaving night clubs until well into the early morning hours. I slept terribly and then had to attend a day's work. Parking was at extra cost to the £80/night (without breakfast) for a basic single room. Awful value.
Friendly staff and provides easy access to city centre.
