The room was too hot even with the radiator turned down. The room faced the front of the hotel and the room shook when large vehicles went past on the road. Furniture a little dated but everything very clean.

Paid for four breakfasts and four dinners, the food was excellent!

Room could have done with a bit more cleaning there was cobwebs on window frames and their was hair's on the shower mat. ☹️

No full length mirror, kettle lead so short kettle had to be at an angle, shower got really hot and wouldn’t adjust, breakfast was cold even tho I was early, scrambled egg looked shocking, room stank of cooked food as must have been over kitchen, broken plug socket.

The charge of £30 for an early check-in was too high compared with other hotels. It was almost half the cost of the room!

I couldn't get hot water to the shower on my first night, for a premium room, not so good.

Plenty of choice for breakfast, and fairly good quality. Could have been hotter as went cold on the plate quite quickly.

There is nothing that I could say that I did not like.

It's a quaint, old-fashioned, town hotel. The reception team were lovely, attentive and helpful. The room was clean, the linens fresh, clean and well ironed. The ensuite bathroom was perfectly adequate, with plenty of lovely fresh towels. The hotel's in a good, central location and I did find suitable car parking in a nearby street. The hotel has a busy bar area on the ground floor, there's an old fashioned dining-room on the upper level that served a decent evening meal and a very generous and diverse breakfast. I very much prefer these character filled, well worn hotels, they have a warmth and unfussy feel that a lot of modern, sterile hotels can't compete with. I can tell that this a firm favourite with generations of families.

It’s getting quite tired and a few things are falling apart especially in public areas. The head waitress at breakfast was very rude and argued we hadn’t paid for breakfast then told another guest off for using the wrong tongs to pick something up from the buffet and snatched the tongs out his hands

Shower was super slow and the pillows were like bricks

It was a very late check-in and and very early check out so we literally used it to sleep. So just basing this on the basics - the gentleman who greeted us was lovely, im sure he was the duty manager. Bit of a palaver to find the room but got there! Room was lovely, very spacious, plenty tea and coffee, cot bed was set up as requested, nice and warm, no loud noise from anywhere.

Room was very warm being on the top floor (September). As it is an old building the floor is sloping so bed wasn’t on a level sleeping surface. Quite a significant walk from the lift to top floor level (additional stairs) so might be a problem for people with mobility issues or with heavy luggage.

Very centrally located. Clean room and good breakfast. Plenty of parking around also.

I mark down my stay though as the noise from corridor is very loud. Thankfully my room was at the far end of the hotel with no one passing and once people had gone into their rooms there was no more noise from the corridor. However if there had been different guests I might have had no peace at all. The shared parts of the hotel are tired and past their best. For the price one would expect a lot more. It didn't even include breakfast!

Room was newly decorated, new bed and mattress. Bathroom also all new. It was warm though bathroom less so. All very clean. Shower was nice and all comfortable.
