No service in a morning when attending breakfast as staff were too busy dealing with the coach tours. Had to wait and 2nd morning only 1 lot of toast compared too 1 each the 1st day

Didn't mind at all ,but the other guests were mostly 70 plus and that's what's caterd for

A little dated but lovely staff and clean enough. Good location, a few hundred yards from the centre of town. Great view of the clyde estuary.

Need to upgrade from one wee bar of soap for washing! Creeky floors so take ear plugs!

Good breakfast but tea was catering taste quality. Good view from room which was a good size and warm. 10 minute walk from town.

No evening meal sir? But as noted above this worked out OK although a little strange after many decades booking into hotels to be told there was no evening meal available…to me!

Superb location overlooking the estuary, although my small room was out the back. Unfortunately the hotel was only catering for the coach parties for the evening meal so had to go out for food…all worked out in that regard. Breakfast was arranged and was very good…served to your table. Room was small but adequate as I was travelling alone. A hotel that has been around for many a year but clean, welcoming and suited my needs.

The heat!!! The receptionist gave us her tiny desk fan but we were told none were available & tbh, the desk fan didn't do a lot to cool us down.

The view from our room was gorgeous

Difficult to find as reception looks like back of hotel on a side street which is confusing as photo shows front of hotel over looking sea.

Front gardens were lovely over looking the sea.

The food was a bit like you’d expect in a care home - a bit bland, not a huge amount and not much choice.

Location was really good. Would have preferred a lamppost in the car park for security reasons, as we felt the car park was very dark at night. On departure we couldn’t leave the car park, in our car, until two of the three coaches had moved out at 9.30am, as we were hemmed in. Our room was over warm - too warm for us, so we opened all three top windows and turned off our radiator in our room overnight. We felt our dinner at £18 a person was a little expensive for what we received. Meal sizes a little on the small side. Meal choices a bit restricted. Breakfast was ok. The fruit juices seemed watered down, and there was no black pudding or potato scone in the full British breakfast. On the plus - Staff were all very pleasant and cheerful and our room (no.211) was clean and comfortable. Service from the staff was pleasant and efficient. So an ok stay. Would we stay again? Probably not. This hotel seems to cater better for coach parties and people of a certain age. We’ve stayed at other 3* hotels in Dunoon, and would be likely to go back to them in the future, rather than the Selborne, sorry.

Went for a night for cowal games , our room was situated next to a ping pong table and the dining room , we had no view and our window had frosted glass . Cost us 114 pounds for 1 night there , would we go back ? Not so sure . Overall I rate it as a 6/10

The breakfast was very good even though we didn't get cutlery to eat with , the garden out back was looking over the sea which was a bonus as it was a nice day and we could take a walk along the shore into dunoon harbour . Overall it wasn't the worst experience but I believe for that amount of money we could have gotten better for our money

If I had to say I didn't like something it would probably be being allocated a time of when you can eat breakfast . I can understand why this is needed and isn't really a big thing.

The views from the front of the hotel were beautiful. Ideally situated for where we needed to be. The staff were lovely.

I needed something more than one tiny wee bar of soap but that was my fault. I forgot stuff and didn't realise till late evening by which point all shops were shut and the hotel couldn't help me with toothpaste or basic toiletries to buy.

Hotel was basic but clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The single room with ensuite was a bit tired and small. It faced a stone wall which didn’t help.

It’s in a lovely location and the public rooms have beautiful views. The staff are lovely and very welcoming.
