It was a bit further away from Lyndhurst than we’d realised, so more driving than expected.

Lovely staff, all with a good sense of humour, comfortable beds, great parking facilities. We didn’t eat here, so can’t comment on menu, but breakfast was delicious and a wide choice of dishes.

There is nothing to dislike. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent and included in our price, the evening meal was equally good, reasonably priced but maybe a bit on the small side for some. We would definitely book again if re-visiting the area.

Rooms facing the road get a lot of noise Rooms are not well ventilated and become stuffy and warm easily as the windows are quite small - opening them naturally leads to more street noise Provided fan was broken Beds have lovely linen but are sprung and are very lumpy which made for a broken night of sleep The walls are very thin so neighbouring rooms noises were audible and the room doors slam easily and are heavy and loud - best wear earplugs Fientje road noise and internal hotel noise No space in bathroom to put a washbag Bath over shower which was difficult and slippery to get in and out of Glassware hadn’t been changed and we had the remnants of cola from the last guest - summer is a busy time and it was a detail that could have easily been overlooked so was no issue NB. Dogs are not allowed to be left on premises in the rooms. We were not told this and had to abandon our evening after a very snippy email and phone call from reception as our dogs barked (fair comment in this case) but how the receptionist handled it when I came back and profusely apologised left a lot to be desired. Condescending is the word I’d use to describe how I was addressed. It upset me a lot and made the rest of my stay uncomfortable at best.

Small bit of noise from the attic room in the early morning and my sons room had air con buzz through night but minor things.

Perfectly located in the heart of New forest with a golf club next door if you’re interested. Inside is unfortunately not as authentic as the outside leads you to believe but still very clean and smart. Breakfast was perfect and we looked out over the green to a herd of wild pigs walking buy whilst eating my pork sausages 😂😂😂

Just a little miff - the double bed was 2 singles joined down the middle; rendering a sole occupant to experience, a bit of a weird sensation when gravitating towards the centre to sleep.

I loved the hotel and our room. The only area that I felt was a little disappointing was the restaurant: we had dinner there one night and breakfast twice during our stay. The food was okay (except for the vegetarian burger - that was great!), but the lettuce leaves need to be washed properly because they still had dirt on them (clearly very fresh, I suppose!). In terms of service, it was courteous and fast. I would have preferred not to be addressed as "guys" (I will readily admit I didn't say anything about it because I felt embarrassed and I never really know what to say anyway!), and not to be handed my glass of wine as I headed to the table, but rather be seated first and have the drink order taken afterwards.

Really lovely hotel. The room was spotless, recently refurbished, and had everything you could possibly need. I loved the range of bath products (they were locally produced and cruelty free, and they smelled amazing). The bed was comfortable, the linen crisp, and the towels fluffy. The reception staff were excellent, very polite, welcoming and friendly.

It was a little pricey, and location made things difficult to get a taxi. The noise from the road was a little loud when cars drove past.

The room was quite expensive and did not include breakfast in the price. If this was included I would have said this was more reasonable.

Our room was a small loft room, perfectly fine for the price we paid but might have struggled if it was hot. Would of preferred fruit salad at breakfast rather than an apple or orange.

Disliked going to be charged £30 extra for earlier check in. Breakfast and evening meal were not included in price and I now believe there was a dinner, bed and breakfast rate but I was not offered it so we paid high prices for those meals.

The first room I stayed in had no floor space, which meant there was nowhere for my dog to lay down comfortably. The second room I stayed in on my most recent visit had floor space (which my dog appreciated a lot) but I was in an attic room. As a taller person I spent the entire time hunched over. Doorways were quite small and the shower was low (with no way to make it higher).

Such a beautiful hotel, lovely location, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Incredibly efficient and addressed any and all concerns brought to their attention.
