Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOn the 2nd night we booked to include breakfast via booking.com and were charged £30, however direct at the property the breakfast menu has all options for less than £15, so for example if both people had the omelette as a couple you would unnecessarily pay £15 over the actual cost. We both opted for the full english and unfortunately breakfast wasn't great, I felt it was a little undercooked and temperature was a little cool, also the complimentary tray could have had a bit more in there as I had to ask for a top up due to staying 2 nights, but that was no trouble when I asked the staff
We had room number 8. Absolutely lovely room, around the back of the pub, private access with parking right outside, includes a sofa in the room. Staff are friendly and it was lovely to sit in the bar for a few drinks in the evening and not have far to walk

United KingdomRang ahead to find out what time they were serving food until, and we were told 7.45. My partner arrived before me at just before 7.30pm and we were told that they had shut the kitchen. We ordered deliveroo as we had both had a long drive and not stopped for food assuming we would be able to order as per the website and what we had been told. Staff did not appear happy or accommodating to our request to have a drink in the bar and eat our takeaway food there despite being the only people in the bar, and we were told that they had hoped to close early as it was so quiet.

United KingdomThe WiFi is temperamental, but to be expected in a rural area. This caused a little lag at times with the TV and devices you connect to the free WiFi.
The room was very comfy and when it got a little warm over night the Dyson fan did an amazing job at cooling the room, and silently. If you want a great night sleep this is the place, so quite come closing time in the pub, and so so dark once you switch the lights off. Perfect

United KingdomCute little room above a pub on a Saturday night (no noise, the pub isn't too busy). Good facilities, food is decent and it's very good value for money. The pub is basically the only place in the village of Curridge so you kind of need a car if you want to stay here, but it's a nice base for exploring the Chilterns from.

AustraliaOur stay was at the time of unprecedented heat in most parts of England which is not the fault of any one at Bunk Inn. For the future it may be necessary to provide low key cooling eg. fans in the rooms.
Location of the Bunk Inn is very good. There is much potential there.

A lovely find - very nicely designed rooms in an old pub that has been updated and extended. A midweek stay so quiet and very pleasant. Not only were the rooms beautifully decorated but they had lots of thoughtful touches of luxury including a radio, great coffee making facilities, and a Dyson fan. Our downstairs room also had a small outdoor patio. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant in the conservatory area.

Welcoming staff and breakfast staff. Great price and room was lovely. Booked online for room only but paid for breakfast which showed a great choice of food, cooked perfectly. It’s a really nice old pub with character. Bedrooms spacious with great shower in en suite, which has good quality toiletries. On a map this looks slightly out of the way but it is not far from the M4 junction with the A34. Definitely recommend.

United KingdomThe curtains were hanging off the rail, we couldn’t open windows securely, it hadn’t been cleaned behind the net curtain for a long time and there were bits of fluff on the floor but bed and bathroom were very clean. I couldn’t reach the shower extractor fan switch above the wardrobe tho my husband could at a stretch!
The room was comfortable and had outside access to it and to the dining room which was important to us avoiding covid contact. Also a small outside table and chairs with patio doors, so nicely designed but a plant would have helped! It was quiet because it was midweek and few people around. The bed was big and comfy and the bathroom also big and good. The breakfast was good. Service one day was excellent- the next day a little more of a struggle. Nice quiet fairly rural setting with a horse field behind. We stayed there to visit family and will definitely do so again.
