Only fault bar closed at 10 but this could be because mid week however you can purchase and take to your room

Friendly welcoming hosts. A place you you feel at home where you can feel relaxed chilling out by a log fire with a sandwich and pint of local ale. Breakfast fab and waitress exceptional thank you !

Room delightful. Breakfast delicious apart from the vegetarian sausages which were a bit flavouless but we enjoyed the breakfast all the same. Dinner was excellent and your selection of gins was intriguing.

The only criticism would be to have bigger single beds. We had a twin room as we are both fidgits, but we found the beds a little too narrow.

The Inn itself, the location, the staff, the food and drink, just about everything was just perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the cheerful Karen, who took our details and showed us our room and explained everything we needed to know, breakfast times etc etc. Afterwards, we went down to the bar for a drink and some lunch. We ordered a ploughman's which was excellent. All throughout our stay, we were treated respectfully and all the staff were constantly smiling and chatty! Rosie and Nat although young, were exceptional in their jobs, serving drinks and food and remembering the ice cream list! Karen was so cheerful in the morning at breakfast we didn't mind getting up early, and along with her squeaky shoe, kept everything running smoothly. We didn't meet the housekeeping staff, but the room was clean and well equipped, so thank you! It's often said then doesn't happen, but WE WILL be back!

Although the bedroom was classed as superior the electric plug situation for the kettle could have been better sited although the age of the building has to be taken into consideration.we were on the rear of the building so had less road noise although that didn’t affect our stay.

The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner. The bedroom had a couple of armchairs in it and made the room more usable, also you had full use of the pub itself.

The decor of the hallway could do with an update but nothing that would deter us staying there again.

Only a couple of very minor points: Kettle power lead too short, such that the kettle had to be placed on the floor to safely use it. Room TV slightly small by todays standards.

Staff all extremely helpful & courteous. Excellent quality & quantity of (included) breakfast, and very good overall standard of maintenance & cleanliness. Very good kitchen, with an extensive menu for the location, all to a very good standard. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere for a leisurely weekend trip.

It is just a minor but it would have been nice to have somewhere to sit and have a drink away from everyone who was eating but nice to see it so busy
