The restaurant section could be uplifted with more attention to service!

The rooms were comfortable and decoration charming and relaxing- facilities in the room were excellent including iron and ironing board!! Teas & coffees were well provided also with a mini espresso machine !! Everything well thought out! TV & radio!

Everything was good so no problems

Everything was nicely cooked especially the breakfast. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay - parking was free with plenty of spaces. We liked to sit in the Orangery at night which was very relaxing. On the whole a pleasant stay and we would return to the George if we visited the area again

This is only a small issue - the shades in the bedroom allowed a lot of light in early in the morning - otherwise the room was perfect for my needs.

Good food and drinks - excellent selection of menu items. I ordered from the tapas menu for dinner and had lots of options to choose from. Breakfast was great - lots of different cooked or continental items to choose from. The room was large, comfortable and had everything I needed for a business trip - a desk, plenty of outlets for the laptop, phone, etc and plenty of room to spread out and relax after work. This would be a good stop for exploring the area when not at work, plenty of parking and close to local attractions.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfy. The fan in the bathroom was annoying, l wish we could have turned it off. It did go off. The 3 egg ham and mushroom omelette l had for breakfast was excellent. The food in the bar pm was also very good. We knew the hotel is on a main room, so as expected, noisy. Ok, with window shut. Hotel bedroom nice and warm.. Great for one night and convenient for our journey.

Breakfast was a little disappointing as it took over an hour for us to be served our food despite there only being us and another family in the breakfast room. Quality of breakfast was also not great which is a shame as the rest of the food and service we had were excellent!

The room was lovely - very clean with cosy decor. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. We took part in the pub quiz in the evening which was great fun. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening - the food was lovely and service efficient.

Although our dog had a room charge, they went further than most hotels would, they provide her with a bed, some treats, a ball. Nice touch. Breakfast was really good, evening meal was standard pub food and very good also.

Unfortunately the privacy blind in our bedroom was broken which meant it wouldn’t close. On reporting it to the evening staff I was told, “yes we know but a new one has been ordered” ???? I found out next morning that the room we were in was not supposed to have been let until the new blind was installed. This oversight was a bit disappointing, especially considering the window was in full line of sight to traffic coming up the road with lights on high beam through the night. In the end, a bit of Aussie bush ingenuity saved the nights sleep but I shouldn’t have had too. Would it stop us staying there again? No, as we realise this was something out of the ordinary but the fact there was no offer of a change of room at the start was a quite disappointing.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The atmosphere and decor was well done and as you would expect in an old English Inn / pub whilst the bedroom was quite modern and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with many options to choose from.

Quite noisy in deluxe room being just above one of the main entrances so could hear people outside, downstairs in the pub and the traffic from the other side of the room however, the pub was closed by 10.30 so this was not much of an issue for us and the traffic was easily blocked out with my earplugs. Minor issue and wouldn’t stop us from staying here again.

Great location for us as we were up for a visit to Longleat. Room was nicely presented with good facilities and a comfy bed. Lovely breakfast served by a very friendly female member of staff :).

The hotel is very close to a busy road so there is quite a bit of traffic noise.

The cooked breakfast didn’t quite hit the spot unfortunately, could be hotter and better veggie sausages. Shower was a little low on pressure and temperature was temperamental but wouldn’t stop me staying here again.

The only down side was that above the bunk beds in the family room was a large area of damp on the ceiling & wall. There was also a hole in the ceiling above bunk bed where I think someone has possibly jumped up & hit their head.

The pub is set in a lovely quiet village close to Longleat . The rooms were a very good size ample room for the family. The beds were comfy & decoration was very nice. Really liked the drink options for adults but feel a squash option would be a good idea for children because it's a family room . Staff were very friendly & helpful.
