We had ourselves an amazing time at The Miclaran, brilliant setting for a weekend break away from the mainland. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable at the guest house, the breakfast was cooked to perfection. The best thing must have been the Seaview from our room. Gardens are also fantastic. Alan and Sue are fantastic guest house owners and really know their stuff when it comes to their knowledge of the island.

It was all fine.

Very warm welcome to the property. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet and equipped with tea, coffee and biscuits. Room was serviced every morning. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals and cooked food. We had a sea view and could walk down the coastal path to Shanklin from the road the Miclaren was in. Car park in front of the property. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was great and the sea view from the window 2nd to none. Room clean and tidy and made up daily. Hosts both very knowledgeable about the whole island close to both shanklin and sandown. Coastal path just at the end of the garden.

Our room on the second floor was spotlessly clean with tea/coffee making facilities, a good shower and fantastic sea views, the hosts were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of it. The Miclaran is situated between Sandown and Shanklin, overlooks the sea with a coastal path at the bottom of the garden with a 15/20 minute walk to either resort. We would highly recommend The Miclaran to anyone looking for somewhere to stay on the island. A bonus for us was the parking at the front of the property.

We wouldn't say we 'didn't like it', however just to note that hotelier ferry discounts are not available if you book The Miclaren via this website.

The Miclaren is a lovely guest house; the beds are comfy; there are thoughtful touches in the room such as bottled water, and an extra blanket available; the sea views are beautiful, and the breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice. Alan and Sue were helpful and friendly, as was the lady who serviced our room. We'd stay again.

Nothing exceptional keep up the excellent work.

Location so close to Blueberry cafe coastal walks etc. Facilities esp the beautiful well kept garden and being able to freely access the facility courtesy of the very kind owners. Cleanliness exceptional Bedroom facilities excellent enjoyed the hot chocolate and biscuits!! Breakfast exceptional fresh and bespoke!! Everything to perfection! Well done! We will undoubtedly return again!

A slightly larger shower cubicle would have been good for me.

Breakfast was very good. Good quality cooked breakfast. Choices for cereal fresh fruit etc. The hosts were very helpful and obligng. The situation superb. Sea views, a great garden. The Coastal footpath literally on the doorstep. Public transport nearby.
