How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A ramp out of the back entrance to wheel luggage. There was step to negotiate.
Breakfast was fine and we really enjoyed walking around the location with our dog. The staff were very helpful when we had to stay for an extra night because of a ferry cancellation.

The breakfast tea is tasteless. Could also offer better tea bags on the hospitality tray than the organic brand used - flavour is really poor.
Fabulous friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. Once they know what you like they go out of their way to take care of you. Lovely restaurant menu and comfortable public areas. Bedroom well equipped and very comfortable, with nice Guernsey toiletries.

While the standard of food, beverages and drinks for the dinner service was very good, the breakfasts could be improved. As a self service the choice was wide and the continental breakfast was good, but some of the hot food for an English breakfast had been in the warmers for too long. The big disappointment was the tea and coffee! Both were kept in warmer jugs/flasks and were completely "stewed", bitter and undrinkable.
The location suited us as we have visited Guernsey before and had our own car with us. However, although there is a good bus service to St. Peter Port (Bus stop less than 5 minutes from the hotel), without a car exploring the rest of the island might be more difficult than staying at a more central location. The standard of food and service was generally very good.

Cooked breakfast could have been a little warmer as it was good products, just not presented at the best temperature.
Location was great and an unexpected bonus was the provision of EV charging on site.

Outstandingly friendly staff.. I looked forward to meeting Apple, Karen and Sans and all the staff every day. I love the buzz of the local daily customers with their dogs in the coffee Dock every morning and the quiet night cap with Sans at night. Loved Ryan's music choices while discreetly tidying for the night.

It would have been nice to have some more vegetarian options at breakfast, but still a plentiful supply. I found it strange that the rooms didn't have any overhead lighting. This was fine during the day, but meant that in the evening we just needed to turn all the lamps on.
Gorgeous views (right next to the beach), all the staff were lovely, food was delicious, very clean

It wasn’t a dislike but the shower curtain was rusty all around the shower rings plus shower curtain didn’t look 100% clean

We were staying over on the weekend and there was a party in the hotel restaurant that we were not warned about.

We would have welcomed having some fruit available at breakfast. More choice on the evening menu would have encouraged us to eat at the hotel more in the evenings. Some notification beforehand that building work was going on at the hotel would have been appreciated: drilling and hammering noise while eating breakfast on Sunday morning was not welcome!
Generous sized portions for the cooked breakfast. Friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusively so. Location was convenient for coastal walks and getting the bus to other parts of the island.
