We couldn't find the light switch for the bathroom - after visiting reception we found it was a pull cord in the bathroom (but couldn't find it in the dark room initially - we had to use a torch) which was a bit grubby and could have done with being replaced and a proper handle adding to the cord

For the price paid, I was a little anxious about staying here, however, although basic, the room was clean, comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed for the night's stay

Compared to the Inn, not as comfortable. Prefer double beds.

We stayed at the Lodges as our ferry going to Orkney was cancelled due to weather and we had a reservations at the Inn on the return trip. (Check out my review there). The Inn is the nicer place to stay but the room in the Lodges was fine - no double beds available and not enough blankets for the two. Excellent response from the staff to get our heat turned on (our operator error). It would be great for a longer stay as the room had a little kitchen area and a good value. Good bar/restaurant (in the Inn) and perfect location to the ferry.

Our stay in the lodges was very much spoiled by very rowdy members of a rugby team, who were totally out of control and seemed responsible for the fire alarm going off twice (first time late evening second time very early morning - totally ruined a night's sleep). The lack of any hotel person being visible on either fire alarm event was very worrying, as was the non-appearance of any fire appliance (it could have been a real fire as opposed to a false alarm). The fact that the Duty Manager was unaware of these events next morning was also of concern.

We had issues with our lodge (see below), but the Duty Manager responded to our problems and we were very satisfied with the alternative offered. Meals (dinners both evenings and breakfasts) were very good.

Clutching at straws as the Weigh Inn was fit for purpose. Requiring a coffee boost at the start of the day, I needed to stop after leaving the Weigh Inn at the Halladay Cafe in Melvich for Inverness Coffee Roasting's Highland Blend.

Weigh Inn was excellent value, particularly when compared to others amongst the 50+ booked for the trip. We were 2 road cyclists and were able to keep the bikes in our rooms, arrive and leave when we needed to.

Fire alarm went off twice in the night due to radiator turned up high. Happens with shower as well if door not closed to bedroom. No notes in the room to advise not to do those things, and no instructions in the event of a fire alarm, or who to call.

Room of good size, bed comfortable, Breakfast good and of reasonable size. Shower good. Room on ground floor. Plenty of parking, close to ferry
