I stayed in the four bedroom cottage, which had badly peeling paint on all the single glazed windows externally which clearly need replacing, making the exterior look quite scuffy. The cottage's main door also had very badly peeling paintwork. I stayed in Room 4: The large room was comfortable albeit quite basic and needed a lick of paint here and there. Some of the bedroom furniture was well used, outdated and would benefit from replacing. The wide-screen Samsung TV suffered from constant pixelating which I reported the first evening and seemed partly resolved by the second evening; not known if this was a TV fault or poor reception. The bathroom was substandard with some peeling paint and stained walls, which looked like water damage.  The shower was not 'walk in accessible' as stated on the Booking.com details;  the shower tray, although dimpled, also seemed quite slippery when in use albeit clean; otherwise the shower worked fine and hot water was plentiful. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and the bathroom skirting board could have been cleaner. The hair dryer was very efficient; however, it was on a very short tightly curled lead which did not suit a room that did not have any 13amp sockets at an accessible height.  Being quite tall, I had to kneel to use it. None of this particularly spoiled my two night stay, although attention to The Cottage exterior and Room 4 is needed.

First all the good bits. The White Hart is a really great pub, with free WiFi throughout, a large restaurant serving good food and a large well tended lawned beer garden. The hospitality from my arrival to leaving was similarly great and very helpful from all from all levels of staff.  Thank you. The king size bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and I slept like a log both nights.  The room was cleaned and tea making comestibles were  replenished for the second day.

The taps on the hand basin were too small for the basin. Although the ensuite could have done with a refurbish, it was adequate for a couple of nights. Creaking floor boards above our room but to be expected in an old place.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfasts were very good with a good selection. Always plenty of hot water.

The room was fairly basic with a low sloping ceiling in places, but comfortable enough and with all the amenities required.

Our stay was made by the wonderful Manager, Yin, who could not do enough for us despite clearly being rushed off her feet. She communicated with us beforehand after we requested an early check in, and on arrival moved things around to facilitate early cleaning of a room so we could freshen up before heading out. She was interested in us and our plans for the day as well as trying to help us with our travel, and was just a wonderfully warm host and all round lovely person! Thank you Yin and team.

The Wi-fi was not as straightforward to connect as described. It was fine on my phone, but didn't connect to my laptop.

Very pleasant surroundings, comfy bed, powerful shower, plenty of towels. A good breakfast, although not as hearty as I would have liked.

There is some noise from the occupants above but they were not too bad.

Breakfast and menu and cooking in the evening were fantastic. A delight to eat an English menu again. The chef is top class. Room was very nice and very warm,if one wants, which is a very rare exception in all hotels these days because of ridiculously high energy costs which are totally unnecessary.

Price of Beer was High, But had own Supply. Bar Closed Early. Can't really say there was any other dislikes

All round very good value for money. Great place for short Stay. Found lots to do nearby. Found mean EV Charger to use. Beer was Good. Owners did say they were installing some EV Chargers onsite in time

The room was "tired". We felt it needed a bit of maintenance and a lick of paint maybe. The shower clip was broken. The water in the shower was backing up as if it needed unblocking. There were 4 very thick pillows and we didn't realise how uncomfy they were until the middle of the night. Perhaps two thick and two thin would be better.

The breakfast was exceptional. Very high quality cooked breakfast plus extras if required. The room was clean. The bed was very comfy.

We stayed on the ground floor of the cottage and could hear when people were walking around upstairs. The floor was very creaky. Doors were slammed early in the morning so we didn't sleep very well because of this.

Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast very nice. Location for what we wanted was good.
