There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property, aside from the fact that old coaching inns seem a bit ghostly due to the absence of horses.

I like to stay in old buildings, pubs and hotels. This is usually a bit of a a lucky dip; sometimes good, sometimes shambolic, nearly always dilapidated and in need of some investment, both in the property and staff selection and training. Not here- this is a wonderful property which has been brilliantly restored.

Like many places a little understaffed at times.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice. The property has been given a substantial upgrade and it's a big improvement on the previous owners.

It was perfect!

Where do I start amazing we were overwhelmed & so excited on arrival to be given the Agatha Christie room we felt like royalty! Beautiful & unexpected. The staff were great nothing too much trouble they were enthusiastic & even had a little time for a chat. The food at breakfast & our evening meal were beautiful cooked & tasted amazing! Such good value & good size portions had to share mine! Gordon the general manager shared lots of history of the building which was fascinating. He was extremely helpful & happy to help us. Elise our waitress was so sweet & chatty it made a huge difference to talk to two members of staff like real people who obviously love their jobs & care about what they do. Thank you both very much. We would highly recommend this hotel stunning! & The garden are beautiful too lots of little quirky areas to enjoy loved it we will be back THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Well done

It was all great!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I was given an upgrade to a wonderful, luxurious double room. The food was excellent and there were lots of choices at breakfast. I had a lovely stay here for 1 night, I wish it could have been longer 😊

Our breakfast order got mislaid, but the staff were pro-active in rectifying the issue and with good humour.

In the coffeeshop a table was wobble and staff ( I think new and in training put a wad of napkins under one table leg . It looked really cheap and ghastly.

The promised bath robe and slippers were not evident in the bedroom but that was a small detail.

The bedroom was well equipped and cosy with a very clean and good sized shower room. The staff were very friendly and polite. There was plenty of parking space in nicely kept grounds The cooked breakfast choice was good and of a decent size! A variety of places to sit in with a small snug ideal for playing games, which were provided

The property had character, but was also furnished to a very high standard. We loved the themed rooms, ours was Sterling Moss and our friend’s Mid summer murders.

Nice olde world pub in the centre of a lovely village. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was very good and evening meals were good. We had a lovely superior double room which was very clean and comfortable.

The staff were slow, focussed on the wrong things and service was not the greatest, especially at breakfast. No one to greet you and tell you how it worked, where you could sit or where the continental breakfast was placed.

The George is a lovely hotel in a beautiful part of the English countryside. The room was spacious and the food excellent.

Breakfast was delicious but we did have to wait 30mins to have our orders taken and before we got coffee/teas. Some team members were more on it than others, but we did get a bit hangry as it took nearly an hour before we got our food. However we appreciate it might be a lot for only two staff members to serve breakfast and manage the counter/bar as well.

Beautiful rooms and amenities. Very comfortable and large bed and little touches like the sleep spray, radio and nesspresso made it feel super luxurious. Love that the rooms are themed as well, it’s very unique and fun.
