Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaThe rooms are much smaller than you might expect. We were a group of 5 friends and stayed in their family room. Not much movement could be done when you take into account the luggage. Breakfast is brought up to eat in your room, because of the previous space problem and there are no tables it was a bit of an inconvenience to eat.
The location is perfect. Breakfast was included, not much and mostly were snacks but good to get you started in the morning.

Czech RepublicThe rooms are very small. There are no chairs to sit so we had to eat our breakfast on beds. And some rooms are on the basement so you really don't have a nice view and the room is noisy as you can hear trains and the underground below.
Location - near train station and underground. The room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was served in the room. Unfortunately, it was the same every day. But it was sufficient, usually we could leave some food for the evening. There were also a lot of shops and places to eat nearby.

United KingdomWe were offered 2 rooms- lower ground or 2nd floor. As my mum has mobility issues, we chose lower ground. We were kept awake until after 1am with the noise of the trains, and woken up again by 6am.
Great breakfast, lovely staff. The room was good.

IrelandOur room was below basic, we had booked a family room with a double and 2 single bed through Booking.com however, this is not what we got, we had 2 double beds and with a teenager boy and girl, sleeping arrangements were not the best. Also breakfast was basic but fine , however we were not given any knives to cut the croissants or spread the jam! Shower was also absolutely useless, more water in a shower of rain
Location was fantastic

United KingdomThe dated look lets it down. Shower head wants replacing, it was leaking water. It looked like they've forgotten to wipe the froors after getting our room ready, it was dusty, otherwise would have been great.
Great location, train and subway link from Paddington to anywhere. Room for me and two teenagers was a good size, beds and bathroom were clean, wi-fi, tv, and the rest worked. Staff couldn't do enough for us, because we were leaving early in the morning and missing breakfast they brought tray full of food in the evening which was lovely and plenty for both supper and breakfast.

UkraineOur room was on the basement floor, even though there was a window but the view wasn't nice and it was quite dark in the room in the daytime. But the worst thing we had - a terrible noise and earthquakes made by the underground that we heard. So I was quite happy that the underground had stopped after 12am.
The location is just perfect - it's literally 5 mins walk to the Paddington underground station. The room and the bathroom were clean and towels and bedding looked like new. Continental breakfast was much better than I expected, I even would say that it was generous. In the bathroom there was some shampoo and shower gel and in the room there was everything needed for tea and coffee.
