How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We stay at Tyacks every time we are in the area. Same warm welcome, good honest food and a no hassle stay each time. The staff and management go out of their way to make your stay as good as it can be 😀

The bath and shower in the middle of the open suite- would have preferred them in the bathroom. I thought the bath was full of hair, but when I notified reception the lady who came up to look said they were scratches in the bath- didn’t look great.

Great good using local produce. The staff were great and really helpful. I can understand why there were no vacancies for the whole of our stay

Our room was above the band and disco. It didn’t bother us this trip as we came down for a family party but if we were on holiday I would not be happy as we are elderly .

Headboard was not fixed properly, curtains let to much light in
Last minute booking as flight was cancelled so just needed a bed and some food. Both good.

I will in future ask for a room which is not immediately above the main bar on live music nights.
I have stayed at Tyack's on numerous occasions and will return. Staff excellent as usual, breakfasts very good, as I say, I will return.

The waitress at breakfast just slung the food in the table. We had to ask her to fill up the cups, offer sauces, and when we asked for water she said I’ll get it in a minute. The room that I had was a good size but was at the very top of the hotel and felt a bit like flowers in the attic. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and fresh. Yoghurt and milk needs to be refrigerated. Coming down to breakfast for 8.30am and it’s warm. Had to ask for butter for the toast. Full Cornish breakfast was amazing and good quality ingredients.

A top floor room had a poor WiFi connection and a flickering light which I had to turn off to avoid having a headache.
I am a repeater. I feel at home as if I am staying at my relative’s house because I see same people’s smiles every time I stay here. They are so friendly, and I love their food.

Lack of a safe in the room and creaking floors made it hard to sleep.

Well the noise from the upstairs floor boards creaking.It was from above room 14 so noisy it woke me every day .way before I wanted to wake.i complained first day about how loud it was and the voices I could clearly hear. It's a old place with wood floors .the reception were not very bothered and offered no alternative or answers .I left sleep deprived tbh. And went back to sleep last morning and totally slept through breakfast. Not happy. It's a beautiful place hopefully next time I get plenty of sleep.free parking is

We were upgraded to a suite thanks to Booking.com points 😊 but the ‘suite’ while big and comfy turned out to be just one large room with a bathroom an extension of the bedroom
Great location; clean, large and comfortable rooms overall - we were shown a family room and a twin room and both were very good!

The room was a little dated and could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up but for one night not an issue.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great as was dinner with good service. Lots of free parking.

Music from the bar was no problem however late night street noise was loud. Traffic was noisy early morning. Nowhere to hang clothes in room

Breakfast was good and the service was prompt . The only criticism, both here and in the bedroom, was that the cups were far too small, mugs should also be available.
