We were awoken by a faulty fire alarm about 6am which the staff dealt with and advised it was a known fault but still quite a rude awakening.

Good location, clean and friendly staff.

If anything the breakfast times could be better seams to get very busy around 8am and not much room to queue toaster needs to be in a better place.

Views location accessible to facilities car parking, on a bus route for most locations

The entire region is (new-vogue) dog-friendly. That's fine but dog numbers ' behaviour in the restaurant area was off-putting. Some dog owners uncaring about dogs barking etc.

A deviating course to our room 6. However, pleasantly surprised with the size & layout of the suite. Excellent Bathroom size, function & storage. Great space & storage facilities in the entry lobby & sitting area.

The weather but the Wateredge had no control over that!

Our bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, it was reported but nothing was done. Hotel a bit too warm overall but that's just a personal choice. Only minor details

Very minor but more for your information: On a nice day, it can get very busy with long queues, so double up on drinks. Carpet in dog friendly rooms. No direct outdoor space.

Incredible pub right on the lake. Lovely setting and plenty of space whilst also being dog friendly. The staff were all very nice, friendly and welcoming and made our stay very special. The menu had good options and catered for most diets. The beers on tap were also very good. We would definitely come back.

Breakfast finishes at 9.30am ( a bit too early) Should have a separate breakfast room for people with dogs . Some people have allergies.

Bath water could have been hotter. Cups were cold at breakfast. Menu food was good but limited choice and descriptions exaggerated e.g. a sweet described to be served with "lashings of custard" in fact served with a very small amount..

Breakfast was very good. Initial room was not what we wanted but the they changed us to a much nicer one. Accommodation was comfortable and cosy. Tea and coffee in room. Room was quiet.

Wateredge Inn still my go-to hotel for Ambleside for location and room comfort/views.

The changes to the layout come at a price, I feel; the breakfast is now a buffet arrangement - excellent choices but cooked breakfast soon went cold and so disappointing if you remember how it was before - cooked freshly and served hot to your table so the quality has taken a dip in my view. I would still stay there again, however, as the positives for me outweigh this negative.

Perfect view, location. Room 11 have had before and was very pleased to have it again. Changes to hotel layout since refurbishment meant plenty of seats to choose from in the bar/restaurant. Happy to have ample parking available and be within 2 minutes of the pier to get a ferry. Thought bed may be too soft when I say on it but I was wrong - very comfortable sleep there both nights. The Thai Yellow Curry I had one night was really tasty and I really enjoyed it.

No where in the walk in shower to put soap, shampoo etc, needs something in the cubicle to put these things. Evening menu didn't feel like it was 4 star selection or presentation, quite limited choices too. Same variety of soup for several evenings on the trot, sweet potato, coconut and chilli, although very nice you'd expect a different flavour every evening or every other day. Garnish lacking on the dishes, felt more like pub grub than hotel standard. Other guest in the booking stayed in the Windermere rooms, first night they didn't get any sleep because of half a dozen guests being loud all through the night, talking, shouting, banging doors. When staff member was told next morning they were already aware of them being disruptive however nothing seemed to have been done about it and they were checking out that morning. Should be either a phone in the room to ring reception if staff needed or a number in the room to call. We did get a number on the last night but had to ask a staff member about contacting someone if it happened again as there were more boisterous guests there on the last night too.

Really comfortable bed, very clean room, spacious, good tea and coffee facilities in the room. Excellent choice at breakfast

Room 3 was above the bar. Music was on from 7am until 11.30pm. We are not late to bed so was a little noisy when trying to sleep.

The room had a few problems. The bathroom door lock was broken, the handle on the bath came off when you grabbed it to get up. That was dangerous as someone could easily fall in the bath. The area where the toilet was located was very narrow.

The atmosphere, the location and the food, also staff very friendly.
