Good old building with a lovely street entrance.

The place is looking well worn, our bathroom was clean except for the shelf behind the sink which was dusty and had cracks at both ends. The bathroom window would not stay open and there was ivy growing across the cieling from the window, never the less the room was comfortable and we had unpacked before using the bathroom, so did not change and are happy with the compensation mal upgrade offered.

Breakfast is good, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Mostly the room was fine. The hotel has character and an interesting history.

The hotel was nice enough, however we were told we had a "Privilege room" which is an upgraded double room and that made sense for the price we paid for one night, however the room we had felt like a standard room and extremely over priced. There was soft drinks in the mini bar but the one can we opened had yellow lumps inside it.

    Great location

The shower, but that was quickly corrected by a member of staff. A generator type noise during the night which we have noticed on previous stays.

Good sized room. Breakfast ok. Helpful staff. Location and parking excellent.

Drinks expensive at bar, corridors a bit grubby , could do with modernisation.

Breakfast as already mentioned could have been heated better for full breakfast guests. Staff seemed a bit surly.

Average coffee machine was good , reception staff were pretty good , breakfast staff not so much. Location was best feature.

Great location but the hotel needs a refresh.

The hotel is very dated and in need of some TLC and a refresh. The room was clean but worn/tired. The breakfast was good but normal buffet style with a coffee machine would have been better to have fresh tea /coffee served. The Car parking was an additional cost which was surprising and unexpected based on the cost of the hotel room.

The location was excellent and he bar reasonably priced.

The hotel foyer/lounge area was very comfortable but the hotel seemed to lack staff to clear tables of plates and glasses.

Handy location near city centre with parking at rear of hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good breakfast.

The older rooms and carpets are in need of refurbishment, no USB points for chargers. Hallways were in need of deep vacuum.

A Thoroughly Enjoyable Stay at a very good hotel in a city that was new to both of us.

The car park was being used by contractors building at one side of the property. Whilst some changes were essential, and much was done to alleviate the situation, I felt the instructions given by the hotel could have been just a little clearer. Not a complaint, just something that might improve the situation for future guests, especially if they're travelling from overseas.

The room was comfortable and quiet. Probably the best sleep we've had in a while for a hotel. The staff were all helpful, in particular Kelly was excellent. My wife has particular dietary needs and Kelly ensured these were met, which made our meals very enjoyable.

Normal secondary pillow. The chair had been sat on by an elephant hence the massive dimple. NO RADIO 3 TO LISTEN IN THE MORNINGS. Could not operate the dreadful air conditioning system. The restaurant evening staff need to be a bit more 'with it'.

Nearly all was good especially the sun coming in. The breakfast was enjoyable although the porridge I reckon was from an instant packet. Location was ideal because of the two locations I visited. The room and bathroom were very good. Good honest food.
