Mattresses were too thin so the metal bed base could be felt through the mattress. Some of the seating was ripped which was a shame because it made it took a bit scruffy.

Very clean, great location (about 2 min walk to the centre), amazing views, the only noise I could here was the sound of a flowing river; polite staff, loads of kitchen equipment.

This is at least my 5th, 6th? Time staying here. Nothing bad to say at all as usual. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms spotless, showers and toilets spotless, close to the center of Keswick and very well priced.

Everything was ok really. Although the room had sockets, with a charging portal, the person on the top bunk didn't have access to the socket. Not sure if that applies to all of the rooms for phone chargers. Free WiFi is available downstairs in the cafe/bar, but it did reach our room too, so that was handy. The window doesn't open very much and even though the heating wasn't on, the buidling and rooms are so warm. I understand why they don't open fully for safety reasons, but we just couldn't cool down, and this is February.

Location is great. We parked on Station Rd, which is a Cumbria Disc parking free for 2 hours, but you can park from 6pm-8am anyway. Our room faced the river, so great views. The cafe / bar is really nice, with great coffee. If we visit Keswick again, we will go there to eat too. It's opposite the cricket club, the play park and large open fields , so easily accessible for kids. The staff were very friendly. Kitchen was immaculate although we never used it. We've stayed in quite alot of YH in the Lakes and this is definitely the nicest one. A pool table would be a great bonus for teenagers. We will return.

    Nothing - all good

The youth hostel was very well appointed with sufficient shared facilities, a great restaurant menu and service, friendly and welcoming staff and in an ideal location in Keswick. During our stay we sampled the coffee and cake, nachos, Katsu curry and the full English - all very good and if you don't want to wander out to eat this is a great option. We had a lovely view from our room over the rooftops to CatBells and beyond. Once we parked up we didn't need the car at all until our departure - walked Latrigg, to the Keswick Launch for a hike up CatBells and over to Castlerigg.

There could maybe be one more item on the vegan breakfast, mushrooms or something else cost effective for the price point. (It is great value)

Location is perfect, parking is free for 2 hours or after 6pm all night, rooms are spotless and comfortable. It's really close to the town center for nights out and food but not close enough to be disturbed late on and really close to a lot of the area's mountains either walking or a short drive. The staff are always very friendly and the kitchen staff are really accommodating with the way they handle your food, making sure they clarify any dietary requirements and asking if there's anything you want more of that you really enjoy. Checking in and out is really easy and the staff are really friendly at this stage too, offering local advice and generally being chatty and nice.

The bathrooms are walk-in showers that could use a little more tidiness in cleaning and a hook to keep your towel and cloths from laying on the floor. The doors in the building are heavy and noisy when closing, so you will hear people walking in and out, but it was quite at night.

Wonderfully located hostel with mountain views and river sounds. The cafeteria invites to stay for a long breakfast, a drink after dinner or even work there for some hours, the room was spacious and Covid rules allowed single use. There is a sink in the room, a lamp to read and heating. Big communal kitchen to prepare your meals. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back!

    Global Warming? (Greta's full spate)

Bright, light and clean. Felt safe. Nice staff, great organisation. Central location near pubs, shops, and transport. Stagecoach has maximum fare of £2 to end of March. Situated beside the Greta with views across Fitz Park (steps down from Station Road) to Latrigg and mountains beyond. Exceptional value as base, visiting in Keswick and England's Northern Lakes. Grateful to stay - usually full!

The only think to be mindful of is the stairs from the road down to entrance. Also while cafe is dog friendly, it's a real shame none of the room are or we'd be back again & again!

Loved our time at keswick youth hostel. Staff were so friendly & helpful. Perfect location for easy access to town centre & walks. But with such a lovely cafe on the doorstep it was tempting to spend all our time indoors overlooking the river. The beds were so comfy - didn't feel like we were in bunks!
