How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No wifi for 2 days. I called 3 times the owner kept assuring me that there was some disturbance in the street regarding the Vodaphone wifi connection. I had an important meeting jeopardized because of this.
The location was best. Friendly staff.

It is super noisy. Everything is heard from outside. The room was presented bigger in the pictures.The bathroom is small. In the shower, I could not almost enter, and I am 95kg and 1.83 height.
It's in the centre of Rome and very close to the colloseum and the metro station. The bathroom was clean

it is not a hotel, it is an apartment used as a hostel. The check-in could be complicated because the staff is only available at certain hours... I mean no 24/7 staff support

Thin walls so if other people were noisy we could hear them but couldn’t hear outside noise. WiFi didn’t really reach our room. No kettle in room.
Fantastic location, good price, staff were very helpful with allowing us to drop off our bags when we arrived and also kept our bags for us on our last day. Room was very clean.

Humidity in the walls
It was close to every historic attraction in Rome, especially the colosseum. We didn't use public transport during our whole trip. Perfect location.

We would appreciate at least one shelf in the bathroom for placing toothbrushes etc. The walls between rooms are rather thin so you can hear other guests. We also had feelings, that the walls were little bit smudged on some spots. Last but not least, the internet was rather unstable, maybe the bandwidth of router isn't broad enough for all guests.
The owner was very nice and accommodating. He let us store our luggage in the apartment even after our checked out. The location is really great. You have everything so close.

The location is excellent, two blocks from the Colisseo and with many services nearby. The room is simple, to stay for a few days and more than anything walking around Rome makes up for the price paid.

Water pressure wasn't great probably because the shower head was leaking badly. The water temperature changes between scalding hot to freezing cold several times during a 5 minutes shower. Stayed for 3 nights. Not really great for what I paid for the room (295+ euro/night), to be honest. Room was super basic. It would have been okay but the problematic shower was really annoying.
You are paying for the location. It is about 5 minutes walk from the Colosseum. I just walked everywhere. 5 minutes walk to the closest metro. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops. 30 mins walk to Trevi Fontana and the surrounding attractions.

On fourth floor with no lift. No one I could consult for services. ie where could I leave my luggage after check out as my flight left late evening.
Clean, close to monuments, shops and restaurants and bars.

Not TV in the room. It could be a bit cleaner.
Location is excellent. Luggage storage was secured even if it was not offered from the property. Fridge in the hall, outside the room, can be used. Air conditioner was working excellent. Beds are very comfortable.

The towel is not clean. I found hairs on the towel, and it smelled strange (not fresh). The bed sheet were not as clean as well.
the property just Ok for its approximity to the main attractions in Rome. you can go and return to this place in just minutes from Colosseum, Roman Forum. There are many restaurants and bara nearby, which are very good as well.

Only minor issues! No facilities to make cup of tea or coffee. Shower small and bit awkward however that was because no space to make it any bigger! No mirror except in shower room!
Location was excellent. Apartment clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend!
