Fantastic and warm hosts which made our stay unforgettable. Great breakfast and dinner. Lovely terrace with the lake view. Many hikes starting very close to the guesthouse.

The host Anita she is so nice and hospitable. I liked this place so much. The breakfast was wonderful. We tried the dinner. We were full of delicious and big portion of meals. It deserved its price. If I come to Macedonia, it’s sure I will prefer them 😊

There was no such thing. Nothing to complain about. Seriously.

I loved the location. Peaceful and quiet. I enjoyed the silence and the view of the lake to the fullest. Risto's Guest House is not distant from the neigbouring Ohrid - around 20 to 25 minutes by car - with all the major attractions. A visit to Saint Naum Monastery and the nearby beach is also recommended. Risto and Anita are an amazing couple. We had just a few occasions to chat a bit because of our schedule - 2 nights stay. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the talks with both of them. Anita has a great sense of humour and is a very cheerful person. Not to mention her cooking... OMG! It is indescribable. Don't bother eating out in any of the neigbouring cities/villages. Anita does it better. The dinners we had were a fantastic experience. The portions and variety of dishes will meet everyone's taste. I'm more than sure of that.

One of our best stays in the Balkans

This place is a gem in a small village. We absolutely loved staying here and walking around the village. Sheep being taken to pasture, a small celebration at a neighbors house. It was a bit magical. And Anita is just fantastic!!

Best hosts on booking.com 100%. Very friendly, service and Anita's homemade food was amazing. Recommend it to everyone who is visiting lake Ohrid. It has amazing panoramic view of the lake and mountains during sunsets.

Nothing

Traditional Macedonian food was served everyday and it was absolutely delicious. The accomodation is in a village in the mountain overlooking beautiful Lake Ohrid. You get to experience the village which has a beautiful church, a water spring with ice cold water and even sighted the local Shepard as he walked past with the sheep. I enjoyed the hiking of the Galicica mountain, the fresh air and the views. The service was exceptional, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would highly recommend this property if you want to experience delicious Macedonian food and a relaxed holiday.

With a few small touches, the bathroom can become more comfortable.

We loved Anita's delicious breakfast and meals. Each morning a different and equally delicious breakfast menu made him happy with more. We are happy with the interest of Anita and her husband. Rooms are clean and spacious. Thank you for everything we felt at home. Hope to see you again.

Firstly the guesthouse is so tidy, clean and has enough space in the room. Anita and Risto were the most friendly hoteliers we have seen ever. Our morning chats with Anita was gorgeous, she is not doing this work just for money. Especially her breakfasts were awesome. We stayed 3 nights and every morning she served us another traditional special. She collected fresh lettuce, tomatoes from garden, brought traditional cheese from her sister's handmade cheese. We can't explain her hospitality and humanity with words. If you have an idea to visit Ohrid don't think anything, this is the right place. I don't even mention wonderful lake view. You must be in there!

Cozy place. It feels like home. Anita’s food is delicious! She can cook amazing Macedonian dishes. Both Anita and Risto are super friendly and helpful. They gave us many tips. Their B&B is located in the beautiful Galicia National Park and is also a perfect spot for hikers. We will come next time for a hiking ;)

Before I begin, let me once again thank Anita and Risto for the wonderful accommodation and service, we will be back! At first we were a bit skeptical about the location as it is a bit far from Ohrid, but there was no problem as there is a bus that runs all day. And things got better once we walked through that wooden door and met this lovely couple. Not to mention the homemade food, it's so delicious… I'm already missing that breakfast and the homemade wine for dinner 😋 Just book, you won't regret it.

A guest hause with a differance. We had long talks with both Risto and Anita, learnt a lot about Masadonia and Ohrid and enjoyed lots of jokes and fun with them and other guests. The veiw by evening meal over the lake into the setting was so beatiful. the local people was so open and friendly. A little piece of heaven and we will return hopefully soon

The hosts were wonderful. Both riste and anita were lovely genuine people. Would recommend it to all foreigners that look for a great macedonian hospitality experience. Also Anita is a great cook and served us with a lovely local breakfast. We were situated in the apartment in the annex building which was very spacious and had an enormous balcony overviewing the lake.

Not one thing

Thank you so much Anita and Risto for an amazing stay at your guest house. We felt like family and enjoyed every moment we spent with you! The room is big and clean, the balcony has a great lake view and the guest house is in a super quiet and calm area. You reach the lake by car within 5 minutes and the house is the perfect starting point for hikes. Coffe, water and tee are always available for free and the house is super for families, small children and everyone else! We never in our lives had better breakfest and dinner and we can only recommend staying at Risto's Guest House!!

The bin in our bedroom was TINY and filled up quickly, Anita says she only empties it if you ask her, otherwise it would get emptied after your departure, so if you want it emptied regularly make sure you speak to her ;) Our beds didn't have duvets, but the "old style" sheets and blankets, I personally found this slightly inconvenient as they move around all the time and get easily messed up, I did mention this to Anita but she wasn't sure about the meaning of the word "duvet". Also, the sheets and blankets were a bit short (and we're average-height people).

Located in Elshani village up in the hills a few km away from Ohrid, if you don't mind to be in the hustle and bustle of the town then this place might be for you. You would ideally need a car to move around but you can also use the (not too frequent) Ohrid-Elshani bus service, we stayed only 3 days and we would take the bus to Ohrid in the morning at about 9:00 and the return bus to Elshani at about 20:00, the cost was very low. Our family bedroom with balcony was tidy, very spacious and had a fantastic lake view (but no tv). Anita the landlady is lovely, very welcoming and a great cook, she was very friendly with our kids as if we had known each other for a long time. We tried her food (dinner - extra cost) and it was great. The included breakfast was also very satisfying and quite generous, with plenty of sweet and savoury options, and almost everything is home-made. Coffee (filter and Balkan-style) is available all day all the time for free upon request. We also had a brief chat with Risto on our 1st day, he is a fairly down-to-earth and friendly guy. We can recommend this guest house to anybody wholeheartedly. P.S. As we have children and as there's no airport bus service to Ohrid town, we came here by taxi (MKD 1000 / 20-25 minutes).
