“Great hostel in a really good location (ecpecially if you continue camino coastal route). Really liked the beds and hospitality. As a pilgrim I found the mix of pilgrims and party people not ideal but would definitely come back but not friday + saturday. Very clean!”
“A good place for pilgrims to stay near the camino (note it is 2 kms off the camino). Room was clean and bed comfortable. Menu of the day served until about 16:00 then you must wait for 20:00 for kitchen to reopen. Staff were friendly and efficient. Sat outside the bar chatting to fellow pilgrims.”
“Super nice helpful guy runs the place. It was very clean and quiet. It has a lovely modern upstairs kitchen, dining, lounge area. Has seperate women's and men's bathrooms. Women's had 2 shower and 2 toilets. Showers had body wash and shampoo. Had hairdryer. All areas very modern and clean. Pod bunks with privacy curtains and individual light and power outlet- bed was spacious and comfortable and had clean linen. Has lockable storage locker below bunk with a key provided. Great breakfast included- super fresh bread loaf with butter and two jam types, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, muffin and biscuits. I used the correos luggage transfer service to/from and this went really well. Quick, easy check in (was able to check in a little early as it was raining so arrived early). Fantastic place to stay on your Camino Del Norte. It is s few hundred metres off your main camino trail but easy to locate.”
“Beatriz communicated arrival details clearly, helped with a restaurant reservation and was a delight to meet in person with her enthusiasm and smile. We enjoyed our stay in this authentic stone mountain-style property with ample private parking and rural views yet conveniently only 5 minutes walk into the cobbled heart of Santillana del Mar and 10 minutes drive to the superb Altamira cave museum. The room featured wooden beams, rural views, a good sized bed with firm enough mattress and quality bedding. Restaurant Gran Duque (5 minutes walk) was excellent - glad we booked as it filled quickly, even mid week. The breakfast (9-1030am) included in the room rate was simple (fruit, breads, jams etc.) but plentiful - some guests brought their own cheese and meats. Great value for money.”
