Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomRoom was beyond luxury! Our other NYC hotel room would have fit into the bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and the bath was like a swimming pool. Staff gave us a free glass of champagne and mini desserts as we were still in our wedding garb!

United KingdomThe quality of the food in the Palm Court could have been a little better. Quite a lot of it closed, such as the bar upstairs, shopping area etc. Not much to do within the hotel itself.
The location of the hotel is superb! Most of the staff provided excellent service. Room very spacious but a little tired in places. The Champagne Bar was excellent especially Russell who provided 5* service and a very genuine, friendly person who made our stay!

United StatesI would have loved to check in a little earlier. I also would have liked the “breakfast included” to be a little more clear with their wording. I received a $50 credit each day which was very different than “breakfast included” which led me to believe breakfast was free and included in my nightly price. I would have ordered it either way but would have liked to have known up front that it was only a $50 credit.
This hotel was amazing. I felt safe and secure which was super important. I love that you are only allowed inside if you are staying there or have reservations for tea. The staff was so incredibly kind. The in-room dining for breakfast was so nice and delicious!! I love the turn down service and the shower fixture was phenomenal; the pressure was great and the water stayed hot which is hard to come by in hotels. Everyone we spoke with on staff was accommodating and more than willing to help!

United KingdomWe are breakfast at The Palm Court and it was average at best. We had to send one dish back as it was over cooked, found plastic in another dish. The manager did come and apologize and take that dish off the bill but we were really disappointed with the food there which is a shame. The quality and presentation did not reflect the price. No water in the room we had to call housekeeping several times to bring some up
Loved staying at The Plaza. We were celebrating a special occasion and they left us a bottle of champagne in our room which was a lovely touch. We had a great room with a view of the park, all the staff were very helpful. They have the champagne lounge that is for hotel guests only which is lovely. Really happy we celebrated here

United StatesMore free outlets equally on both side of the king-sized beds. Room service was very slow when it came to delivering a filled ice bucket to our room; however, they were find for morning Saturday morning breakfast delivery :-)
This building remains on of NYC's landmarks. It's primary architect designed, amongst other great buildings, the Dakota (the inner courtyard brickwork is a dead giveaway to that part.) If you are looking for a modern looking facility got elsewhere, BUT if you want lure 1800's to early 20th-century opulence with all the modern facilties such as seamless wifi continuity and large flat screen TVs etc. then this is your place. The rooms could have more electrical outlets as either one side of the bed or the other has more and the other has non free, but they have a nice QI-based charging dual angled-digital display alarm clock which was compatible with my iphone 13 pro max. My wife and I were upgraded to a room with a real balcony (on the 5th floor) which had a mini court heard with working fountains every 30 feet or so. the other side of the building I assume to be the condo part.

AustraliaWell, it's the most expensive??? Hotel in NYC so we expected more. It's basically a tourist attraction... so busy with sightseers, dirty red carpet at entrance, service was only so so. Not worth the money. Of course, if you have money to throw away go right ahead....
