After my third stay, I am positive this is an essential part of a wholesome experience in Donoussa. Impeccable views of the entire village, the beach and the port. Most friendly hospitality and eagerness to assist in any way. The rooms are very spacious and feel like home. The owners really knows the importance of maintenance and upgrading. From little decorative details to essential operational aspects, the rooms keep getting better over the years. Great bed and mattress is a favourite, as well as the comfortable chairs and bench in the balcony.

We had a nice room with balcony overlooking the sea. The location was a bit steep on the hillside, but a transfer from the port was offered. The rooms were cleaned daily and the bed was made. Everything was very clean. Breakfast options and restaurants were nearby.

I had a lovely view of the sea from my terrace, and it was an easy walk down to the town beach. The restaurant run by the owner, Christos, was very good and, although close by, it wasn't too noisy. Christos was very friendly and helpful, and collected me at the port on my arrival and dropped me off on the day I left. Overall, I thought the room was very good value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay in our room which was very nice and clean, with a good sized terrace and fantastic view to the sea and the sunset! Mr Loukas, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Overall our stay at Makares exceeded our expectations and we will definitely book again whenever we visit Donousa! Highly recommend it!

Vassilis was an excellent host, giving us a warm welcome and all the information we needed to explore the island, beaches, restaurants etc. Our room was clean and spacious and had a wonderful view. The bed really comfortable. The property is just a little way (3 minutes walk) up from the port and so it is quiet but really close for the restaurants and bars. We loved catching the bus around the island to Kalotaritissa as well as hiking some of the trails to other beaches.
