Everything about our stay was excellent! The room and facilities were spotless, and the breakfast was varous and absolutely delicious. What really made the difference was the staff – everyone was kind and helpful, and Haris in particular went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Santorini!

There are only a few eating places close by the hotel but Captain Loizos tavern was excellent. A large choice on the menu and each one so good. Memories Hotel was a good place to stay and were very helpful including arranging taxi transport from the airport to hotel and again from the hotel to the port.

Santorini is absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting! There are so many unique places to see, amazing views and endless photo opportunities. I also loved all the little shops and how friendly and welcoming the sellers were. The only downside is that there are A LOT of stairs, and some areas can get very crowded, especially during the tourist season, but that’s honestly to be expected. The beaches were not really my favourite, as most of them are quite rocky and water shoes are useful, so don’t come here expecting typical sandy island beaches. Apart from that, I loved everything about Santorini and I would definitely come back again! ❤️

"We experienced deeply disappointing service during our stay at this hotel. Despite clearly specifying our vegan dietary preferences, we were served non-vegetarian breakfast options, which felt like a blatant disregard for our needs. The promised hot tub was unavailable throughout our four-day stay, with the hotel manager offering only excuses after check-in. Breakfast options were severely limited, and the absence of daily room cleaning further detracted from our experience. We also faced repeated issues with hot water for bathing, and upon arrival, we found that neither the washroom nor the room was properly secured or functional, despite our four-day booking. Located in a remote area, this hotel was highly inconvenient, requiring us to spend 50-60 euros daily just to access food or basic necessities. As an HVAC engineer, I found the manager’s claim of 'technical issues' with the heat pump for the hot tub unconvincing—there was no credible reason for it, suggesting cost-cutting rather than genuine problems. Had the owner or manager informed us of these issues beforehand, we could have canceled and chosen a different property. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. Instead, consider accommodations in Oia or Fira, where local transport is accessible and the experience is far more dependable."

Our visit was amazing.

Our visit was amazing. The villa is out of the way and in a quiet area which is perfect. You can get breakfast within a ten min walk and you can walk into the town in around the same time. Taxi to Fira cost us €25-€30 but you can get the bus for €2.20. Avoid Fira around lunchtime and go around 3pm as it quietens down a lot. Also the view of the sunrise from the sea view villas in the morning is priceless!! Well worth an early start to the day.

We were there for just one night, having been on Ios (which was heaven!) for flight the following day. Lots of restaurants and a very 'lived in' feel to the area, as opposed to Fira and Oia which was rammed with tourists from the 3 giant cruise ships moored up!

A little village, however, it contains everything needed for tourists. It is possible to rent a car, there are mini markets and supermarkets, clothes shop and gym. However, the downtown is not as popular as other villages, where one can go shopping, hang out with friends or go to cafes and restaurants.

Location:

Location: Pyrgos is a hidden gem compared to the bustle of Fira and Oia – much quieter and more authentic, yet with equally stunning views across the island. The village itself is charming, with picturesque alleyways, excellent restaurants, and a beautiful castle crowning the hilltop. Getting around is easy too, with straightforward bus connections to the rest of Santorini. Highly recommended if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere without missing out on anything. Favourite spots: The castle and the winding alleyways of Pyrgos itself are absolutely worth exploring. For sunset views over the caldera, Alchemia is a must – stunning location, great food, and we went back twice. Kantouni is a lovely traditional taverna, and Kavatza is a charming family-run spot serving excellent souvlaki in pita – we ended up there three times! For a relaxed drink in the village square, Johnnie CF is perfect. Getting around: The village is served by the Fira–Perissa bus line, stopping right at the village square. There's no fixed timetable so you need to be a bit flexible, but it runs regularly and at €2.20 to Fira it's great value. We never had to wait too long. Activities we'd recommend: Don't miss a wine tasting at Santo Wines – a fantastic experience with breathtaking views over the caldera.

7-10days is perfect for this trip. Kamari is roughly 30mins away from Oia Kamari is roughly 20mins away from Fira Kamari beach sand is black and is very hot and holds the heat for a very long time so sandals/sliders/FlipFlops are advised to walk across beach!

Edge of city - can be busy or quiet depending on what you like - public buses from the city can take to other parts of the island so easy to explore and very cheap - chaotic at the station but great fun

communication with the hosts is excellent and they're lovely people. If you want to go the the town, you can walk along the main road, eat at the family bakery and enter the town from that side. I'd recommend going the other way though, just walk along the gravel road for 5 minutes where you find beautiful views and enter Megalochori that way. I hated the public bus, their schedule is confusing (being based on where the bus comes from, not where it goes) and the only time I used it to go to Fira the bus was warm, people were loud and it was cramped. You're better of taking a taxi.
