We loved our stay at Kallos Imar Boutique Hotel in Messaria, Santorini! The architecture of the building is stunning and the whole interior modern and chic. Everything is clean and the location is perfect - only 5 minutes by bus from the airport and centered between Fira/Oia in the north and Kamari/Perissa in the south. This 4-star-hotel has a great cost/performance ratio. The ABSOLUTE BEST about this hotel is the extremely friendly staff; Cindy and Ana are true sweethearts, they helped us with everything and always were so kind. Also the rest of the staff was very friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

We absolutely loved our stay! The receptionist/host was super welcoming and gave us helpful info about the island. The hotel is close to the airport and has a number of eateries close by which is very handy. The room was spacious and extra towels were provided for the pool which was appreciated 😊

We were there for just one night, having been on Ios (which was heaven!) for flight the following day. Lots of restaurants and a very 'lived in' feel to the area, as opposed to Fira and Oia which was rammed with tourists from the 3 giant cruise ships moored up!

Mesariá is centrally located on the island of Santorini, making it an ideal base for exploring both the north — such as Fira and Oia — and the south, including Akrotiri and Perissa. Getting around is easy, whether by car or public bus. The area also offers great value, with local restaurants and bars that are more affordable than those in the more touristy towns. We especially enjoyed dining at Mike Grill House, grabbing coffee and treats at the cozy Boas Bakery (which also serves as a bar), and shopping at the nearby KPHTIKOE supermarket — everything we needed was right around the corner.

Our favorite place in Messaria was the village itself, with its authentic atmosphere and quiet little alleys. We especially loved the courtyard of the residence, filled with aromatic plants, as well as the old winery nearby. We had amazing traditional food at Postalia tou Aigaiou and a lovely breakfast at Antama Cafe. Both are very close to the residence, so we didn’t even need to use a car. Getting around from Messaria is very easy, as it’s located in the heart of the island with quick access to everywhere – whether by car, taxi, or bus. We had a rental car and could reach the beaches or Oia in just 10–15 minutes. Due to limited time, we didn’t manage to do too many activities. But we did catch the sunset in Oia, took a boat trip to the caldera, visited a local winery for wine tasting, and of course enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the Messavóli courtyard!

The Nous hotel was an amazing hotel base.

The Nous hotel was an amazing hotel base. Easy to travel to anywhere on the island by public bus which was a very cost effective and enjoyable way to explore all parts of the island. Mesaria is 5-10 min bus ride from Fira the capital and 25 mins from Oia. Arkrotiri was a quiet and beautiful unspoilt location worth a visit to see the museum and red beach. Kamari and perisa both also worth a visit for the black beaches nd relaxed vibe.

Messaria is a busy village, situated between the airport & Fira. There are good local bus connections, good restaurants & a fabulous traditional bakery & other supermarkets. There are also some attractive old buildings & domed churches. There is a sea view from some parts of Messaria. It is quite a busy, urban environment.

A quiet area. Locals live here. Very friendly area. Local restaurants are very good and prices are low with huge portions. Definitely a change from Oia. A bit of a walk to bus stop and busses/stops are a bit tricky to navigate.

This was a beautiful apartment with all the amenities we required. It is located in the traditional village of Messaria. One morning we could hear the church bells chime and there were multiple blue domed churches in viewing distance from the home - one being right next to us. We had to rent a car as the apartment is in the middle of Santorini and there was a lot of parking space available a few metres away. It was great, experiencing a traditional village in the heart of Santorini, away from all the crowds.

Amazing cave house. We were so comfortable and loved it. Beds were so comfortable Netflix was a bonus and air con, fans and washing machine made it perfect. Very quiet neighbourhood dotted with beautiful Santorini churches and buildings. Was nice to hear locals cooking and chatting. Lots of very cute cats. Akis and Tina were amazing hosts and very helpful with all the info we needed.

We only stayed one night and arrived late however the next morning the lady at reception (I cant remember her name) was were extremely helpful in making sure we had towels to use the pool before we headed off for a ferry to Naxos at lunchtime. She also ordered us a decently priced taxi (mini bus) and gave us information on places to go, things to do on our return to Santorini.

The apartment was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. We were met by Giannas who showed us around and gave us his mobile number. There was a beautiful semi enclosed balcony with sea and pool views. There was an info pack for Santorini which was very helpful for taxi, boat trips restaurants etc, and using the name of our apartment often got us a quick taxi.
