Absolutely everything! From the minute we arrived, both Dior and Hina were amazing. They helped us find the best restaurants and also helped us with touring (at a better price than offered to us). The breakfast box was just the perfect touch! Kept in contact with everything we needed for our stay and honestly made it more special for us. We stayed in the honeymoon maisonette suite, and the room was gorgeous. Hammam steam room, perfect jacuzzi on the balcony and an even better view of sunrise than we thought. It was truly the best night we've had.

I adored this property . I stayed in the honey moon sweet , picked only because it was all that was left but I wasn’t disappointed, The staff were fantastic . Even a doggy bag breakfast when I had to leave early . Great central location, close to bus depot . It’s very new , and very tastefully done . Breakfast was good also .

A Greek Island Dream

Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.

High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.

Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.

Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.

We are leaving after 6 days at the Majestic Hotel. I must tell you about the excellent treatment we received at the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with chilled cherry juice, the hotel manager Elleny came to introduce herself. The charming Anastasios accompanied us until we settled into the rooms for the weeks we wanted. Spacious and comfortable rooms were arranged for us since there were very elderly and disabled people with us. The treatment was excellent, and always with a smile and willingness to help as best they could. We received everything we asked for, even if it was late. The breakfast is great, there is everything you need and more. The waiters Doretta and Shamir always ask and are interested in whether you need anything else. I have been to many hotels in the world and have never experienced such personal and good treatment. If you can give a score higher than 10, then they definitely deserve it. The lifeguard at the pool, Nikos, is very kind and always asks and is interested in the guests. The girls at the reception Mariam&Sindi are so cheerful and help as best they can. The pool area is very nice as well.

The view is amazing and the location is perfect if you want to explore the island. You will need a car or a motorcycle. Maria at the reception was very helpful and Pedros at the breakfast was taking care of us. Convenient, it is the central location for reaching out to the other parts of Santorini. The major issue of Greece, not just Santorini, is the chaotic public transportation system - never trust the so-called schedule.

Oia is a very beautiful place.

Oia is a very beautiful place. If I ever went back to Santorini, I would always stay in Oia.The views are amazing and it is still close enough to the other towns. It is only a short bus ride to Fira, which gets you other parts of the island.

7-10days is perfect for this trip. Kamari is roughly 30mins away from Oia Kamari is roughly 20mins away from Fira Kamari beach sand is black and is very hot and holds the heat for a very long time so sandals/sliders/FlipFlops are advised to walk across beach!

it was less busy than the two main centres of Fira and Oia but still had some very nice restaurants and bars but not hyper-touristic. It was also in the middle of the island, making access to all the island has to offer less than 30 minutes driving. I also enjoyed the view as it was the highest point in Santorini, which really takes your breath away and make your knees feel like jelly.

It’s a typical beach resort destination. Both the area and the town itself are rather poorly maintained. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, and while it’s peaceful, it lacks a bit of atmosphere. Kamari looks like a more interesting option as a place to stay, while Perissa is nice if you’re looking for somewhere a little quieter. Overall, when it comes to Santorini, if your main plan isn’t just lying on the beach and doing nothing, I’d say the island is perfect for a maximum of 3–4 days, including one day by the sea.

A little village, however, it contains everything needed for tourists. It is possible to rent a car, there are mini markets and supermarkets, clothes shop and gym. However, the downtown is not as popular as other villages, where one can go shopping, hang out with friends or go to cafes and restaurants.

I liked Akrotiri because it’s away from the busyness of the main cities like Fira or Oia. It’s better to have a car when choosing that area because it’s so easy to move around can easily access bakery, petrol station, supermarket and of course there is never a shortage of amazing views on the island.

Location: Pyrgos is a hidden gem compared to the bustle of Fira and Oia – much quieter and more authentic, yet with equally stunning views across the island. The village itself is charming, with picturesque alleyways, excellent restaurants, and a beautiful castle crowning the hilltop. Getting around is easy too, with straightforward bus connections to the rest of Santorini. Highly recommended if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere without missing out on anything. Favourite spots: The castle and the winding alleyways of Pyrgos itself are absolutely worth exploring. For sunset views over the caldera, Alchemia is a must – stunning location, great food, and we went back twice. Kantouni is a lovely traditional taverna, and Kavatza is a charming family-run spot serving excellent souvlaki in pita – we ended up there three times! For a relaxed drink in the village square, Johnnie CF is perfect. Getting around: The village is served by the Fira–Perissa bus line, stopping right at the village square. There's no fixed timetable so you need to be a bit flexible, but it runs regularly and at €2.20 to Fira it's great value. We never had to wait too long. Activities we'd recommend: Don't miss a wine tasting at Santo Wines – a fantastic experience with breathtaking views over the caldera.

Exceptional hosting: Carolina and Spiros were incredibly attentive, helping with luggage, bookings, and going above and beyond to make my elderly mother-in-law feel comfortable. Top-notch amenities: Spotless, high-spec apartment with ultra-comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, great air conditioning, and a private balcony hot tub. Relaxing pool: Never overcrowded, featuring 4 shaded daybeds and ample loungers. Peaceful location: A calm setting just a 3-minute stroll to the nearest beach for sunrise and a short walk to Perivolos beach.

Beautiful, peaceful town with so many restaurants, bars and commercial storefronts. Genuinely friendly, helpful people. Bricki was a great place to eat, but there were many good restaurants and the Greeks certainly know how to prepare lamb. We didn’t know it the first two days, but there is a scenic, romantic walkway along the side of the cliff - amazing.
