Check-in was extremely fast and smooth. We arrived around 2 AM, and the staff handled everything perfectly — only the essential information and then directly to our room so we could rest after a long journey.
As a welcome compliment, the room included fresh fruits and a salad, which was a lovely touch after traveling.
The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a beautiful sea view and balcony. We appreciated the coffee and tea facilities, daily complimentary water, excellent air conditioning, and twice-daily room service.
The hotel grounds are stunning, almost like a botanical garden. The architecture blends beautifully with nature and creates a calm, luxurious atmosphere. The location is very peaceful and secluded, while the town center is still reachable on foot or by taxi.
Breakfast was diverse and delicious, even after 10 days we still enjoyed it every morning.
The staff were consistently polite, friendly, and professional. Before our departure they even asked if we needed a taxi to the airport. Security at the entrance was also very attentive, which made the resort feel safe and private.
The fitness center is very good for basic training and also has an outdoor workout area. We would also recommend the wellness/spa area, which we really enjoyed.
Overall, an excellent adults-only hotel for a peaceful and relaxing stay in Crete.

I spent a few days. A very clear room, the staff from my - you are excellent. One lady from reception - from the bottom of my heart thank you. The view from restaurant is amazing. I take my breakfast every morning on the balcony with the sun in my face. The option for breakfast are for everyone. From meat, fruits, vegetables and a big variety of tea. Please see the pictures. From my balcony see every day the history, the see, the sun and normal life was very good.

This is a great hotel. Less than 10 minutes drive from the airport, minutes walk from several car rental agencies. The room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was plentiful. Polite and professional staff. Couldn't ask for more.

Close to the airport, approximately €15 with taxi. I only spent a night here so i wanted something close to the airport but due to this, it could be a bit noisy because of the planes. The room was cozy, good A/C and very clean. I recommend.

Amazing hotel just few minutes from old centrum. Petfriendly (my dog was welcome without a charge). Amazing huge buffet breakfast (we enjoyed them very much). We was in fifth floor and view to sea was amazing (sun in morning came to us first)

Staff were so helpful fantastic English. Location amazing from historic sites and busy square, close by to all. Food in restaurant was beautiful. We were travelling round Crete islands and my friend said it was her best salad she had by far. Room cleaned every day and only stayed two days as was Crete hop travelling.

Centuries of History, Days of Sunshine
The largest Greek island, mountainous Crete has stunning beaches, plenty of history and as much or little nightlife as you want. Party town Malia has many bars, clubs and restaurants on its Strip.
Along the coast is the capital Heraklion, a bustling city home to many Crete hotels on the beach, and a Venetian castle guarding its port. Its archaeological museum includes finds from the island’s Minoan era, while just inland are the Roman remains of Knossos.
Also boasting a Venetian castle is Rethymnon, a popular resort with a good number of Crete hotels with private pools on Booking.com. Loggerhead turtles nest in season on the sandy beaches here and at Chania, an important port with an attractive waterfront set against the backdrop of mountains.
On the other side of the island is Aghios Nikolaos, a small fishing town with a picturesque harbour. The accommodations were solid - the rooms are in good condition, and having reliable Wi-Fi everywhere across the property was a huge plus.
The facilities and activities kept everyone entertained:
Pools & Beach: There are lots of different pools, plenty of water slides, and a sandy beach. Even better, sunbeds and umbrellas are free both by the pool and on the beach. Additional water attractions were available at very affordable prices.
Family & Vibe: Kids had a great time at the mini club, and the resident DJ played great music throughout the day to keep the atmosphere lively.
Dining & Drinks:
The food options were plentiful, with a good variety of dishes at the main restaurant alongside 3 restaurants and multiple snack bars. You'll find multiple bars conveniently spread across the entire hotel area. A nice bonus was that both the Asian restaurant and the Taverna could be reserved for free!
Overall, a great resort with everything you need for a comfortable and fun holiday

A genuinely good hotel where you immediately feel at home — or as if you’ve come to visit family or close friends. The staff are extremely polite, positive, and always ready to help with any request, yet never intrusive. Nothing disturbs your relaxation here.
The food and service are absolutely 10 out of 10. The location was perfect for us — peaceful and surrounded by nature. If you prefer lively nightlife, cafes, bars, and parties, this isn’t the place for you. But if you value tranquility and beautiful surroundings, you’ll love it here.
A couple of small suggestions: the rooms could use a bit of renovation as they feel a little tired, and while the mattress is quite soft (which I personally liked), others might prefer something firmer. It’s also a pity that smoking is allowed on the balconies — though that’s common in many hotels.
Overall, I can say one thing: I truly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay at Knossos Hotel in a seafront bungalow. The location is perfect, right by the sea, with amazing views and relaxing sounds of the waves. Lovely town, lots of shops cafes and tavernas.
Lovely town, lots of shops cafes and tavernas. We had some fantastic meals . Lots of tavernas on the harbour front, lovely, but you can get a better meal for less if you walk half a mile into the town. we tried to find places that locals eat, as we like authentic Greek food. There is a huge variety so worth looking around to suit budget and food choices.
Clean and efficient bus station, more like luxury, air conditioned coaches, that go all over the island, and cheap! Would recommend the trip to the Botanical Gardens, worth getting up for, dont miss lunch in their taverna its all local produce. Also, some good boat trips too.
If you are self catering, look out for the Saturday market, lots of stalls selling great foods, including cheese and olives.
A couple of shops sell very good Greek linen clothes, well made and designed

Having been in Heraklio in the 80's to visit Knossos I was surprised how much it had changed - for the better. Knossos however has unfortunately become a little sterile as it has been improved so the museum has become more important. Still loved it though

We were tossing up whether to stay in Chania or stay...
We were tossing up whether to stay in Chania or stay Rethymno, thinking that both places would be similar to each other. As it turns out, we spent a few days in both places ad very happy that we did as they are quite different and well worth spending time at each location. Rethymno was a lovely place.

A charming seaside town with a bay on one side and an internal lake on the other.
Lots of scenic restaurant options, a good variety of shops, and an attractive place to walk around.
We only stayed for one night, but could happily have stayed for longer.

It was simply a town full of bars and restaurants catering...
It was simply a town full of bars and restaurants catering for the tourists. A few shops but very expensive. Very little of interest to be seen. A few pretty streets. It looks like they are trying to improve the Fortress which has nice views and is free. The beach further on at Grammeno beach camp site was beautiful.

The area looks like it is up and coming.
The area looks like it is up and coming. There are several Tavernas which were lovely. Uncle George’s sticks in my mind and one recommended by the hotel. Beach bars were generally cheaper than expected and Waves was particularly good.

Plakais is such an amazing place, its has the feel of a small village but has everything you could possibly need, plenty of supermarkets, local shops, the amazing beach and fantastic restaurants
I love their is no major hotels so it really feels like your living with the local friendly people

A small village a half-hour drive from Heraklion.
A small village a half-hour drive from Heraklion. It is very mountainous, so it is best to stay closer to the sea.
During our holiday, we also explored Crete. We visited Heraklion, the Archaeological Museum and the Palace of Knossos, and really enjoyed all of them. We also took a trip into the mountains to visit the Cave of Zeus and a monastery — a beautiful experience and a completely different side of Crete.

The old town is very small but has some great places to eat...
The old town is very small but has some great places to eat & is very authentic & pretty. The strip is what you’d expect. Lots of bars & clubs but over the years it seems the resort has declined in numbers. By mid September there were closed bars & clubs and empty. Beach is good, not the best. Still very packed in mid to late September so I can imagine it may be more difficult to get a sunbed in peak season & at €7 a day it would add up for a family. At the end of September & October the weather changes & expect some rain. Airport is less than 30 min transfer. I’d advise private with booking.com. I had a relaxing week. But there are so many more better resorts. If you want 18-30 type with lots of British bars it is for you. Overall it’s cheaper than UK for eating & drinking especially wine & beer (inc happy hours). Cocktails a bit pricey €11. Food, depending on type of restaurant 2 courses with a drink top end €40+ mid €30+ low €20+ takeaway €15+
