From the first day until our last in the hotel the staff was always responsive to our needs, always asking if we needed anything, very friendly from the receptionists to the cleaning ladies. Very clean private beach, spotless sand, quick sunbed service and comfortable sunbeds. Rooms with a high quality standard, modern and always clean. both breakfast and dinner were varied, for all tastes and from all international cuisines. We also want to mention Liana, from the guest relations service. She was so great with us. Ask her about anything you want or can do in the hotel or outside the hotel. She will help you with everything! For sure we will come back to Nautilux!

The staff were fantastic, very friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely room on the fourth floor and the views over the town were great. Breakfast on the fifth floor was amazing: the views and the staff were great! It was only a short walk into the old town and I can 100% recommend this hotel :)

Centuries of History, Days of Sunshine

The largest Greek island, mountainous Crete has stunning beaches, plenty of history and as much or little nightlife as you want. Party town Malia has many bars, clubs and restaurants on its Strip.

Along the coast is the capital Heraklion, a bustling city home to many Crete hotels on the beach, and a Venetian castle guarding its port. Its archaeological museum includes finds from the island’s Minoan era, while just inland are the Roman remains of Knossos.

Also boasting a Venetian castle is Rethymnon, a popular resort with a good number of Crete hotels with private pools on Booking.com. Loggerhead turtles nest in season on the sandy beaches here and at Chania, an important port with an attractive waterfront set against the backdrop of mountains.

On the other side of the island is Aghios Nikolaos, a small fishing town with a picturesque harbour. Just north is Elounda, a popular family resort, and offshore is Spinaloga island, inspiration behind the book ‘The Island’. Matala in the south has a bohemian vibe and intriguing cliff dwellings, while Paleokastro in the east borders Europe’s largest palm forest at Vai.

We could go on and on about magnificent Crete beaches, but whichever resort you choose, you can be almost guaranteed fantastic food and a good helping of sunshine.

TL/DR: the staff was the friendliest I have ever seen. Everything was sparkling clean. The food was great. The all inclusive package is a must have Now a more detailed review: We made a huge mistake by NOT getting the all inclusive pack, and had to go out every day for lunch or dinner. There's a few restaurants within a 15/20 minutes walk, but under a scorching sun that was not worth it. The paid/specialties restaurants in the hotel are too fancy, too expensive and often had to be reserved in advance, so that was not an option. The only one we went to was the one by the beach. The staff was always friendly. Even under a 40/110 degree heat everybody was happy to be there. That made an experience much more agreeable in the entire hotel. At night there would be entertainment in two places. Usually a more cruise ship like dancing or a band playing. And by the pool there would be a more laid back band playing. The whole place felt vibrant and has a 100% family vibe to It. Lots of kids playing in all places. The hotel has a convenience store with basically everything you need. It runs from 8 to 10 every day, and the staff was also super friendly. We would gladly be back, but now with the all inclusive package.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Paralos Lifestyle Beach. Staff and Service: The staff were really friendly and always ready to help, making us feel very welcome. Ambiance: The hotel was quiet and peaceful, even though it was fully booked during our stay. This was thanks to its smart design and the private pool that gave us our own space to relax. Location: Being right next to the beach was fantastic. The area around the hotel isn't very pretty, so we suggest renting a car to visit more beautiful parts of the island. Food: The food at the hotel was very good, with a great variety of choices. We appreciated the fresh options for both breakfast and dinner. It was nice having a breakfast room dedicated to healthy choices. Also, getting one free à la carte dinner during our stay was a fantastic bonus. Activities: It was great having sports classes like yoga and pilates available. There is an outdoor gym area as well as a small indoor gym equipped with three cardio machines. Overall, our time at Paralos Lifestyle Beach was excellent. We felt well taken care of and really enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer. We'd be happy to come back!

We were sadly only here for a quick overnight stay. But during our week in Crete - where we travelled to Chania, Heraklion, and Rethymno - Rethymno was by some margin my favourite destination. Where Chania's historic centre felt as if it had been totally given over to tourism, Rethymno felt more like a substantial town with plenty to explore.

Difficult to judge because we came early in the season when there was a cold wind blowing and not all the places were open. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] . There were a number of apparently abandoned and ill-maintained buildings, which made the place appear less attractive.

Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful and charming area, The area feels authentic and warm, offering a true Cretan experience, beautiful natural landscapes, and a vibrant cosmopolitan lifestyle. The area is also rich in history. A wonderful destination with something for everyone.

The perfect place for peaceful vacation.

The perfect place for peaceful vacation. The city itself is nice but not something extraordinary, but you get the best food in Greece alongside the best beaches in the World! Try Psarropoula, Kakkos and all other beaches in Ferma area. Make beautiful trips to Chryssi Island or Agios Nikolaos (30min), Siteia (45min), Vai, Oropedio Lasithiou etc.

Visited at the beginning of October and a lot of places beginning to close for the season. Town quiet but pleasant. Unfortunately the ferry to Agios Nikolaos does not run anymore so it’s a long drive if you want to visit

For those who want a quiet get-away and yet close shopping, Kissamos is hard to beat. Close to the port for Balos-Gramvousa excursions and secluded for a wonderful relaxed time with your loved one. Gramvousa Restaurant is a must, a short drive to a memorable dining experience. Loved snorkeling and fish sightings around rocky areas. Pictures cannot capture the panoramic breath-taking setting.

Beautiful architecture, great selection of restaurants, amazing views of the mountains and valley, great location from Heraklion and the Knossos archaeological site, friendly locals, exposure to local music.

It was about a ten minutes walk uphill part way to Koutouloufari, loads of restaurants and bars, a fabulous experience. Walk a little further and you come to Piscopiano, also excellent. Walk down the hill and you come to restaurants with Greek dancing and plate smashing, also excellent.
