We spent 2 weeks at the Majestic Fira. We enjoyed all the facilities it had to offer. It was a 10 minute walk to the shops. It was easy pick up for the tours we had booked. The place was clean and well managed. I would recommend the Majestic for anyone wanting to stay in the middle of the Caldera.

You simply cannot beat the breathtaking views from Fira in Santorini. That said, it is a VERY busy place in the center. We took busses to visit two beaches. We also walked from Fira to Oia (about 7 miles, path clear) which was one of my favorite parts. If you do choose to do this, start early as if you walk from Fira, the end is in the blazing sun when you get closer to Oia. If you are looking for incredible views, Santorini is your place! If you want quiet, Fira may not be the place for you.

Excluding caldera view Fira itself is ugly noisy place.
Excluding caldera view Fira itself is ugly noisy place. A lot of chineese souvenirs with football t-shirts, shoddy imitation of folk art etc. Noisy bars are competiting with atmosphere of Ibiza. Oia nearby is also noisy but more pleasant place. The best idea is to go to ferry port and visit another island - for example Paros or Naxos

The views are stunning.
The views are stunning. There is lots to choose from in food and shopping. The main bus hub is in Fira so you can conveniently go to other villages from Fira (not the same if you are staying in other villages). If one wants to complete the entire Fira to Oia hike, it is most convenient to stay in Fira and begin early in the morning.

Busy with crowds. It is difficult to navigate.
Busy with crowds. It is difficult to navigate. The bus station is overwhelming with hundreds of people and only one information person and board. It would help if KTEL buses showed there route on a map in the front window of the bus. Make sure you can pronoun the name of the place you want to go or have a map open to show a driver. They will point you to the correct bus.
Our first experience in Greece, starting with a stay at the Limestone Hotel in Santorini, was nothing short of marvelous. The hotel's staff, brimming with hospitality and kindness, made us feel at home immediately. A special shout-out to the manager, Thrasos, whose exceptional service and local insights significantly enhanced our stay. The blend of traditional Greek charm and impeccable service at Limestone has set a new standard for our travels. We left with hearts full of fond memories, eagerly anticipating our next visit.
The Manager Dimitri was very friendly and willing to help us whit valuable information. The location was excellent, near to the base street and walking distance to Fira center and Caldera. The bedroom was excellent size, modern, clean and very comfortable. Every room have private hot pool-jacuzzi. After the hot days in Santorini it is very nice to have a place to relax. Hot we recommend to avoid dirty and noisy hotels in the center. I loved every second of my stay there!
Irene, the host was a very lovely and nice lady. She well explained the attractions and bus routes of Santorini which was very useful for tourists. The rooms are very spacious, clean, well-equipped and tidy. Loved the smell of the hotel whenever I came back. Even though the location is not the centre of Fira, a few mins walk was fine and there were a few good restaurants along the way. Overall, I had a pleasant and nice stay in Santorini with Ilois.
Lila was amazing! She helped us rent a car, provide guidance on what do to, the schedule of the buses. She was super helpful, nice and friendly. Hotel is also well located, very clean - 5 minutes walk from Fira attractions as well as the Fira bus station. I will recommend them to everyone I know going to Santorini!
The hotel is very close to Fira bus terminal and easy for daily transfer to Oia or beaches in Santorini. The room is small but for the price you are paying for, it is considered good. Safe area and quite in the evening.
