We loved the hotel because it was very cosy and the staff was just absolutely brilliant. They were kind, thoughtful and smiling ! so rare ! Well done ! We loved the pool, watching our favorite Netflix show on the tv while relaxing in the jacuzzi. We loved the breakfasts and the massage table ! We recommend this hotel. Bathroom and toilets are also clean and perfect.

Across the street is fantastic French bakery, bike shop to get your local transportation and the sea with a nice swim beach and fancy bar of the adjacent hotel. Excellent Italian restaurant just a few houses away with the best pizza ever to pick up.. And an elegant dining experience with superb food and wine when you dine in! Overall great experience!

To be honest, I liked everything! The night at this hotel was basically the epitome of why I love traveling! Discover beautiful places and friendly people. Mr José and his wife Sílvia are lovely. They make wonderful homemade food and we had a really good conversation during dinner and breakfast. The property is incredible, full of details and animals! The best surprise in Costa Rica in terms of accommodation.

Situated in Puerto Viejo, less than 1 km from Negra Beach, Umami Hotel - Adults Only features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. my favorite part of the property is that is Adults only. it’s also small and it feels so intimate, perfect for couples. it’s somewhat hidden, so when you are driving to the location you don’t think the hotel is going to look like what you see in the pictures but let me tell you that once you get there and you walk inside it’s beautiful. The staff was amazing. Raymundo was either the manager or big time boss, I don’t know, but him and his staff were so kind and so helpful all the time. Raymundo talked to the guest to see how their day was and if they needed anything. Also breakfast was included and it was a healthy and delicious option. I would definitely stay here if we ever return to Puerto Viejo. I 100% recommend.

Just 50 metres from the beach, Hotel El Encanto is located in Cahuita and features a pool and a restaurant. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and private terraces. best hotel we had on our trip. the breakfast bread was awesome. you can get beers from a freige for 1500 colones. the rooms are just perfect. sone animals in the garden frogs, birds… not far from the city and not far from the beach. we could leave our car for 4 days in the parking lot because we where going to bocas del toro. afterwards we haf a stay for 2 nights again.

Set in Tortuguero, 50 metres from Tortuguero Beach, Casa Chilamates 2.0 offers air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. This holiday home features a shared lounge. I'm so glad having booked Casa Chilamate 2.0 for 3N which - together with the tours by Arturo from TripsNativos - was THE very highlight of two weeks travelling across CR. Casa 2.0 means there was a new bungalow in a well maintaned garden, equipped with everything one would need including kitchen facilities, good A/C and ventilator. I loved that the property is on the edge of the village, and next to the Nationsl Park. Means living among locals, without the tourists noises from the walking street, but with a group of monkeys as neighbors living in the tree 2 meters next to the bungalow, roaming on the patio roof, sound of birds, and the last morning even the paw prints of a Jaguar at the tiles infront of the door from a nightly visit! I was also welcomed by a fruit bowl of oranges and bananas which I much appreciated. The location is also a perfect start for tours and excursions in the beautiful nature surrounding Tortuguero. I can highly recommend to rent a guide from TripsNativos (run by Casa Chilamates), try to get Arturo as a guide. He was an absolutely fab, intelligent, enthusiastic but humble guy. By booking a tour with TripsNativos you also support the local music school for kids, where parts of the tour earnings are donated to. Last but not least: While I didn't met the owners of Casa Chilamates in person during my stay, the messaging via booking.com was perfect, and their friends/caretakers of the house were so lovely people, worth an extra visit just to meet them again. Would I return, and recommend to friends? Absolutely, 100%.
