We have planned long awaited Northern Lights trip at Kiruna as this year there are lots of activities on sun and have greater chances and views of Northern lights. We have decided to do road trip from Södertälje to Kiruna but as the distance is approximately 1300 kms which would requires 15 to 16 hours and we decided to have break journey with nice overnight stay in hotel and then I found this. Great hotel just off the E4 but was surprisingly quiet given its beside a very busy road. It has ample parking spaces. We had a warm welcome by Kristofer the owner. Check in was quick and simple by girl at the reception. Kristofer is very very helpful in showing our room, the free of charge coffee and tea machines and the water stations etc. The family room itself was very good. Breakfast was nice and mostly fresh. Situated in the heart of Umeå, Elite Hotel Mimer faces the Twin Towns Park and the main commercial pedestrian street. Guests have free WiFi along with free access to a sauna and fitness centre. The hotel was one of the best we’ve stayed at. The staff were lovely, and the building was amazing. All the finishing touches in the room made our stay so much more enjoyable. The history behind the building was amazing.

U&me hotel is located in the center of Umeå, just 50 meters from the Umeälv. The contemporary furnished rooms all have a fantastic view of the city or the river. Great location Central to town, river, walks, buses. Close to train station. Lots of restaurants and cafes, shops. Great breakfast to start the day. Loveliest staff throughout the stay. You don't even need to leave the building to have a good break. 4 storey library, women's museum, art galleries, art cinema, 2 restaurants, grocery shop, all in the same building. Well equipped rooms. Great views. Staff were able to fit us in extra nights on the day our train was cancelled due to snow, much appreciated!!

Great communication and staff, nice equipped rooms, clean and tidy. Love it! Our breakfast was unexpectedly nice! For such low price they serve really great breakfast with scrambled eggs, fruits, vegetables, yogurts, cereals, cheese, ham and even reindeer meat!

This central Umeå hotel is just 50 metres from the Umeälven River. It provides free Wi-Fi, an on-site restaurant and bar, as well as modern rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV. The location was very convenient. Everything was easily accessible by walking - shopping, restaurants, bus and train stations. The breakfast was exceptional. The hours were reasonable, the selection was great, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of the hotel was great. It was an older building, but obviously had been completely updated, so it had a lot of character but was very comfortable. The eating area was in a large glass covered courtyard that really added to the experience.
