The apartment is in a building above a shopping mall. This was very convenient because the shopping mall has a supermarket, a food court, several very nice restaurants (including one that's very popular and highly in demand, and an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant), and shops for tea and snacks. The apartment building is a short walk away from the old town which is very charming. The apartment itself is very comfortable and spacious, and boasts an impressive view of a park, the surrounding hills and the city walls of the old town. Ms Han was very helpful and friendly. She met us at the apartment when we arrived and patiently explained everything. Knowing that we wanted to visited the tourist sights nearby, she offered to drive us there (and on the day, she even brought local breakfast for us to sample). We were most impressed by her warm hospitality, which really stand out on our whole trip. Thank you Ms Han. We hope to visit Datong again.

We had a great stay. The room was comfortable, modern, and better than the photos—new furnishings, good quality finishes, and all the toiletries you might need. Thoughtful extras included a plug adapter, a Bluetooth speaker, and a quality hair dryer. On arrival the room was at a pleasant temperature, with snacks and a fresh fruit plate waiting for us. The location was very good: inside the old city walls and a few minutes walk to the main area of the old town. Best of all, the service was outstanding. The staff were genuinely helpful throughout, and the person who looked after us went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and shared great restaurant tips. We’d gladly stay again and highly recommend it.
