The Guandi Family Temple is only a 10min walk from the property, very easy to reach and totally worth the visit. As for other tourism attractions although a bit far, the hotel can recommend drivers and the prices are acceptable.

Pingyao Jiaxin Guesthouse features rooms with traditional Chinese-style decoration. It is only a 4-minute walk from Pingyao Railway Station. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. It is located in Ancient City of Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a very low price I've got a room only for myself. They gave me not only towel for free but also shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and even toothbrush. Owners speak English communicatively and they are very helpful.

Just next to Xietongqing Unincorporated Bank Museum, Pingyao Baichanghong Hotel is a paper-cut-themed guest house located right in the heart of Pingyao County, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has paper-cut teaching and a gift shop on site. Free WiFi is available in all areas.

These 19 delicately arranged rooms at this boutique hotel are furnished in natural shades. Cloth sofa, decorative calligraphy works and cosy bed with transparent curtains all add relaxing ambience. Featuring a shower, private bathrooms also come with free toiletries and slippers. Extras include a desk and a kettle. The staffs were absolutely amazing. One of the best services I have seen so far. The hotel offers free minibar for guests and breakfast is on ala carte basis and food quality is top notch. The hotel is located in ancient Pingyao city (no car zone). Taxi would have to drop guests off at main road which is few minutes walk to the hotel. I would recommend guests to take up pick up and drop off services offered by the hotel as all streets in Pingyao looks the same (like maze) and it's relatively easy to get lost while trying to find the hotel on your own.

Located in Pingyao Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lao Cheng Gen Hostel is a 10-minute walk from Xianya, the former county government. It offers free bicycle rentals and free shuttle services to Pingyao Railway Station, a 5-minute drive away. All rooms come with traditional Chinese Kang bed. Really typical location, I loved the vibes and the host was really a good man. Wish I could stay longer (not for the town per se, but for the accommodation)
