We stayed in Gengenbach with three families with a total of 6 adults (3 apartments) and 7 kids under 5. The apartments had everything we needed to cook for the entire bunch and even eat together in one apartment (we may have redistributed the dishes and silverware a little). All apartments were lovingly decorated and equipped with everything you'll need for a vacation stay. They even had toys for our little ones, which was highly appreciated. The decorations were all placed in a way that we could remove them from the reach of our kids quickly. We weren't lucky with the weather so we did not get to explore the area much, but the town is very sweet, the museum is great for kids and there is a large playground in walking distance. And lastly the hosts are wonderful warm people! They were always on hand to help with any requests we had (more towels, some cleaning stuff, even some cooking ingredients) and beyond patient with the disturbance we inevitably caused traveling with basically a small daycare.

The room was lovely and the little village too. We had time to go for a short swim in the nearby lake which was great. Breakfast was good, you got asked how you wanted your eggs (brilliant) and the staff was super friendly.
