Such a fantastic taste of paradise. Everything at subtropica is done with love and skill. The breakfasts are superb, the pool is crystal clean and perfect temperature, the grounds are gorgeous with healthy beautiful plants growing everywhere. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Antonio, who helped us fulfill all our plans in mindo! Thank you!

The property is spectacularly set within a natural jungle in the cloud forest. The host, Giovanny is wonderfully responsive and friendly. The property is immaculately maintained and very comfortable. We had a beautiful 4 day stay in our dome on the hill. The property is very quiet and peaceful. Transportation to and from the center of Mindo and to attractions is very easy and affordable by taxi. Giovanny was very helpful in arranging anything we needed during our stay and he had really great suggestions for our time in Mindo. He offered transportation to and from Quito at a very reasonable rate and we took him up on the offer. He provided a very comfortable and enjoyable ride from Quito to the property and he even made a stop for us at the center of the world. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Our stay in Margarit Boutique Hotel exceeded our expectations. The central communal space was wonderful, with a close up view of the hummingbirds feeding a few feet away. Margarit gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our beautiful room which was far more gorgeous than expected. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were exceedingly helpful. We booked a Bird Watching Tour that Margarit organised for us and it was everything we hoped it would be. The location of the hotel was also excellent.

Lovely, large and modern apartment, which was spotlessly clean, in an excellent, quiet location near Mindo town centre. It is in a safe and secure complex, looked after by the manager Ronny, who was really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was always around to let us in or out, including for our early morning starts for bird watching trips at 5am! We had the "family apartment with balcony" which provided a relaxing private sitting area, overlooking the peaceful inner courtyard, which has a small pool. The apartment also had a kitchen with a 4 gas burners, a microwave oven and large fridge freezer, as well as flatware, and a few cooking pans and utensils. The kitchen was very handy for us to prepare meals, although the complex does offer breakfasts to purchase. In Mindo, there is a mini-market 5 minutes walk from the hotel which sells a good range of food and alcohol, and many other shops as well.

This little hotel is family run and they do an absolutely great job. We were welcomed by a staff member & shown to our rooms which were very beautiful & clean We then ate supper there which was very tasty. A beautiful view as well. We had a birding adventure in the am but coffee was available & they waited until we arrived back to serve us a decadent breakfast

Just an absolute dream. Rodny is just the nicest guy. He’s tended to the garden at the back for years and you can really tell as it’s now flourishing with activity. From guatusas to ardillas, toucans and an immense array of hummingbirds, all shooting around whilst you’re sitting at breakfast! The balcony feels like you’re right in the jungle but from the comfort of a hammock. Rodny gave us all sorts of great recommendations (food and hikes) and was quick to ask about our days and show us birds we hadn’t seen. Breakfast was solid and also called taxis for us. Really lovely place and I doubt anyone will be upset at staying here. Loved this place

The apartment was amazing with an incredible view overlooking the forest. The hotel was located very close to the main section of town - we chose to mostly walk, however taxis were available if needed. The food was very nice, both breakfast and dinner. This is one of the best hotels we stayed ever. Marco is super kind, helpful and very passionate about this place and everyone that is coming there. If you go to Mindo you HAVE to stay there! The pool area is very nice, the food is delicious, it‘s even in walking distance to the city center and the cable car to do some great hikes. Marco will also support you planning your days.
