The kitchen was so well equipped for cooking and baking. It even had gadgets like a blender and digital scales, and lots of different mixing bowls and oven-proof dishes. The log burner in the sitting room was great for wet days and cosy evenings. The conservatory was my favourite room, especially when the sun was shining. We had wanted to spend an evening outside around the fire pit but the weather wasn't good enough to sit out.

We loved everything about our stay here. The host was delightful, and gave us some great tips on where to eat. ( Try the Thistle Inn, we had a marvelous evening there.) The caramel slice that was left for us was divine. The bed was so comfortable that we slept late on our first morning. The whole house was immaculately clean, and very comfortable. It has a bath, which is always a bonus in my opinion. There are some adorable sheep and goats right outside the back gate waiting to talk to you. The location is fantastic, incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We had a wonderful time exploring the forest and surrounding areas. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property, and we hope we get the chance to return one day.

Our hosts were kind and helpfull. We arrived a bit later in the evening than expected, but they were waiting for us. The rooms were clean, comfortable and adorable down to the last details. My room had a view to the church nearby, next to the road, but I was not bothered by any noise. Breakfast was also perfect! I would choose the place again. My only regret, that we only spent one night, and not planned for more.

Polharrow is nestled in the secluded hills on the Forrest Estate. The area is blissfully quiet, with some stunning views. The house is a good size, well equipped, comfortable, and had all we needed for a week’s stay. Our host, Margaret, left a welcome pack of food, which was much appreciated. She was also very attentive to our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

Loved everything about this stay. We are so lucky to have got to stay in this wonderful lodge, it had everything you could need, and the most amazing views! So peaceful! We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. It was in a peaceful location and the balcony was ideal for looking at the views as well as the starry skies. We got very lucky with having two clear nights in a row for stargazing. Merle was very welcoming and we loved the surprise homemade lemon cake! There was a plethora of information relating to the surrounding areas and activities to do etc. Lodge was very cosy and tidy with a variety of kitchen appliances and utensils to ensure a good self-catering stay.

Wonderful and cosy cabin with fantastic views. It had all we need for a self-catering stay, plus more. The log burner was so lovely of a cold evening post exploring the lochs. Lovely garden area. We sat and watching the stars on a clear evening, there's not a light to be seen anywhere.
