I recently stayed at a newly build apartment in Kritsa, that is a traditional and beautiful village. The apartment is equipped with modern amenities, including a coffee machine and fully equipped kitchen. The check in was at 15:00 but I request an early check in at 14:00 and the host immediately answered to me and allowed to me to check in early. I recommend this place to everyone that is looking for a clean and comfortable stay on a beautiful pedestrian street in the center of the village.

The host, Marcel, was super friendly and always had great tips for trips or restaurants. His wife even baked a very tasty cake for us one time. We had no problems at all, but if there had been any problems, we are sure Marcel would have solved them in a blink. We traveled a lot to a few gorges (more or less nearby) for hiking and visited some villages around. When we came back in the evenings we enjoyed the fantastic pool and view. We really could relax there. The apartment is very well equipped and provided everything we needed. The beaches nearby are very beautiful. The Voulisma Beach of course is the more popular one. This sandy beach really is great and there also are bars. We had a nice walk along and around the area of Karavostasi and Agios Panteleimonas Beach and relaxed there on the sunbeds as well. Only a few people where there. So if you like beaches not that crowded and don't need restaurants at the beach you should go there. It's a rocky beach but it also has sandy parts where you can easily enter the water without shoes. If you like hiking (and a little bit of "climbing") we recommend driving to: Kritsa Gorge Richtis Gorge (very touristy and with an entrance fee) Orino/Butterfly Gorge Pevki Gorge We also recommend visiting: Agios Nikolaos We visited the Voulismeni Lake and took a walk from there along Minos Beach, and Ormos Beach to the "Cave" which was a very beautiful and quiet place where we enjoyed the view at the sea and Agioi Pantes. Eloundas We did the trip to the island Spinalonga and also went for a walk from Elounda to the peninsula (Large Spinalonga). Sissi Village On our way back to the airport we visited this place. A beautiful village with a small harbor for fishingboats. So you see the apartment is located quite well to reach a lot of destinations. We never got bored and always could recover in the wonderful apartment afterwards. We really recommend staying there!
