Accommodation in Oga

Huge room and surprised that there was a full washing machine in the room. Unfortunately I had washed my clothes the day before arriving

Amazing place, was blown away by this pristinely maintained Ryokan. The location next to the station is excellent and the staff is very kind to show you around. The breakfast was also really good. And lastly there is a beautiful sauna. Would love to go again.

It is minimal, close to the station and an excellent view. Check in and check out was so simple. I love the decoration, all the curved lines - the room felt spacious and the bed was comfortable. I lived my nightly sauna. Showers are convenient. Breakfast is delicious - and friendly service. I also had Chinese in the restaurant.

It was very clean and un the mattress was very comfortable and the accomodation. I had no issue with the self check in and everything went smoothly.

This is one of the best minshuku stays I’ve ever experienced in Oga. The environment is absolutely beautiful, with a small pond right in front of the charming 75-year-old house, creating a peaceful and authentic countryside atmosphere. The room was the largest I’ve ever stayed in, divided into four separate compartments. I especially loved the cozy sofa area with a large glass door overlooking the outside view, it was the perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. The house also runs a café at the entrance, and you can really feel the attention to detail in every corner. The design is thoughtful, warm, and full of character. Every facility and amenity provided reflects genuine care for the guests. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding, delicious, generous in portion, and absolutely worth the additional cost. And I have to mention the sweet potato Japanese cheesecake. it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a cake this much, and I truly wished that the last bite would never come. As a coffee lover, I really appreciated the hand-drip coffee. They even gave us a free single pack to take away, and honestly, the six-pack set for ¥880 is totally worth buying. What made the stay even more special was the hospitality and the quietness of Oga’s countryside. It feels very exclusive, as if they only host one group at a time, which makes the experience even more private and relaxing.

Amazing stay, almost unbelievable at the price point offered at the time. The layout feels incredibly spacious and the property was very clean. The well equipped kitchen included a gas burner, cookingware, cutlery, laquerware serving trays, full sized fridge freezer and microwave. Includes a good WiFi connection and TV. The location of the property is largely shielded by surrounding vegetation meaning that the kitchen and main tatami rooms have views of surrounding greenery whilst still remaining private other then the front. The sheets, duvets and pillows were exceptionally comfortable; they felt very smooth and we slept well. The shower had good water pressure and temperature, it is an integrated deep bath and shower area. I'd also say that the lighting was quite good for this type of property, they have added additional lights in the some of the most used rooms which brightens things up at night. I'd easily reccomend a stay for more then one night if you're in the area, especially if you're keen on exploring more of the Oga peninsula and Akita. You could comfortably stay with 4 here, probably more though may be limited by one toilet. Incidentally, there's also a very nice bakery (great croissants) opposite the property though that's only open on specific days by the looks of it.
