The onsen and the food was great

Absolutely lovely place to stay, with truly spacious rooms. Incredibly helpful staff, almost foretelling guests wishes. We were treated like the most valuable guests, and that was a unique experience. Please however note, the hotel is a bit on the far side of Tanabe, so if you're not into walking, this may be an issue. It wasn't for us, as we came there for hikes and walks, so it was just great place. Also not sure if we were off season, but it looked like we were the only guests in the whole building.

Really warm, friendly host who made us feel welcome

It's far more beyond my expectation. I've had a very pleasant and relax trip due to the 70% of cozy place and 30% of the hosts' kindness. I spent 2 days in QUAYTH. There are 3 rooms on the 2nd floor, but the location and spot are superb! If you're looking for some tranquil place that away from crowded people, this is the right one. The menu is quite simple, but the quality are top class, I love the egg sandwich so much. I will take these sweet memories with me. Thank you!

Now this hotel was a complete surprise for us! First, the view. We had the corner room which meant we had a really nice view onto the harbour and the sea. The room was extremely spacious and the futons really comfortable. Next, the provided services. There was free drinks in the lobby, even alcoholic ones. You could sip plum wine or beer while dipping your feet into the hot waters of a foot bath in the garden. There was all other sorts of fun to do: karaoke, table tennis, all sorts of gaming machines. The onsen is huge and there’s a lounge area where you can read mangas, hang out while drinking more beer (or non-alcoholic beverages), have foot massages etc. Last but not least, the dinner and breakfast. It‘s a feast. You can have sushi, all sorts of sea food, grilled meat, etc. I could go on for a long time. This hotel is meant for enjoyment. So it‘s basically not necessary to go outside. Which we didn’t do anymore though we planned to. Instead we really took the chance to use (almost) everything this place had to offer. We only stayed for one night. Too bad!

Excellent location next to seafood market and total village design is interesting.

We really enjoyed our short stay, Very convenient location close to the train station and really friendly stuff which stored our luggage for several days while we where hiking.

The location is close to the train station and the bus terminal (for those who are going to Kumano Kodo), the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast service starts early- 6:30. Coffee machine is available for free use at any time

All details were thought for the confort of the guests. We received nice package for breakfast and snacks, there were products of hygiene of all sorts, green plants everywhere, tea and coffee. The room was spacious and the futon very comfortable.

Great location and exceptional service

Such an amazing place! We stumbled on a gem! I guess as it’s new it will now get busy. The pizza making was great fun and the projector with Netflix movies from bed a wonderful touch! There was even a washing machine and everything came out smelling really nice. The beds were super comfortable and the place is SO clean. The water was hot, there was a bath and a shower. It was a brilliant stay and we especially loved the surprise of making our own pizzas.

Everything is clean and centered around the food table, which brings people close together.

Top experience. The owner was very nice and helped us with everything. The place is amazing - really Japanese style, got a lot of amazing details, fully equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms. When you don't have the sleeping bag, is there and you can borrow one.

Very clean, excellent shared facilities (lounge and kitchen). Very convenient to travel to Kumano Kodo walk and for local restaurants. Owner very helpful and easy to contact. Very good value.

It's prime location as it is just 100 steps away from the nearest train station.

I really loved the retro feel of the room, which may not be to everyone’s liking. It was great to have a deep bath tub/ onsen within the room. There was a separate lounge area and use of a lovely traditional Japanese bathrobe. The owner Ken was wonderful in organising my luggage to be shipped to another hotel. He was very easy-going and kind. there was a communal kitchen area where there was a fridge, microwave and free tea making facilities. Thank you so much!

The room was absolutely charming and super close to the train station. Perfect location near the Tanabe Izakaya scene. Also the staff was just absolutely wonderful, kind and generous in their hosting. Breakfast (I had the beef soup) was fantastic and a great way to start the trail day!

The toilet was interesting, and the room was really good. Highly recommend. The host was really kawaii and omoshiroi

The apartment is amazing! It is a 3 minutes walk from the train station, located in the neighborhood with most bars and restaurants. The apartment is very charming and the stay very convenient. Especially, the small garden area was adding up to the nice ambience. We fully enjoyed our stay at Hoan.

Well situated, and great place - I would choose the CUE anytime again! Best place to start Kumano Kodo!
